Can anyone give me anything positive about either of these prisons? My sister will be going to one of them. Carswell is an all womens medical facility and the other is minimum security. she will be there for a year.

I show FMC Carswell serves as amedical/psychiatric referral center for female offenders.

Security Level
Administrative female with adjacent Minimum female camp.

FPC rated at 808 and the camp at 148

The camp offers some vocational training but HS grad or GED is required.

The FMC and camp both offer many apprenticeship programs requiring between 2000 and 8000 hours.

Inmates in the FMC are housed in 1, 2, 4, 5 mans rooms or open dormitory style cubicles.

Smoking outdoors only.

No UNICOR

FPC Pekin is the last facility I was in before my release from the Federal grand tour. FPC Pekin is a camp for females located adjacent to FCI Pekin (men). There are no walls, prison borders, just out of bounds signs. Two units (dormitory) house the inmates. Jobs range from landscaping, HVAC, orderly, one librarian post, and construction. Medical care is lacking. Some GED classes exist, good size library. The law library is a dirty shame of a resource. The food eventually grows on you LOL. It's a camp but still a prison. FMC Carswell is here in Ft. Worth, Tx. It is an old military base. While they take prisoners with special medical needs, they all take regular prisoners as well.

Yes, Carswell definitely has a female "camp" and it is considered to be one of the best ones in the system.

So if I had a choice, which I probably won't, Carswell would be better if I do not get the Boot recommendation for BRYAN?
