I got to talk to Ronnie last night, and he brought up some very interesting points of topic. (He's very intellectual...way above my level...but anyway) He pointed out, that the prison system was initially made up to take "convicts" out of society, reprogram/rehabilitate them, and then re-introduce them into society. Anymore it just seems like they want to take them out of society, and forget all about them. Our government was formed with the intent of it being based on God's laws. I saw a quote on here yesterday....forgive me for not giving credit to the person who posts it as a quote for their screen name....but it was actually a scripture...Hebrews 13:3 "Remember those who are prisoners as if you were their fellow prisoners" People all too often, unless directly affected by the prison system, have the "lock 'em up and throw away the key" attitude towards OUR loved ones, and frankly I find it appalling! He also brought up some interesting points on inmate rights....there are a lot of rights that an inmate does not loose because they are in prison, like the right to fresh water?????? The facility he is in, recycles water!!!! How terrible is that? He told me that just yesterday he was getting water from the fountain to make some tea, and kool-aid actually came out of it. This is ridiculous how our family and loved ones are treated in the system.

I plan on starting a LOT of petitions, and hope that all of you here at PTO will help with these...West Virginia inmates have no one at the Capitol in Charleston fighting for their rights....It begins with the family bringing it to someones attention and I plan on doing just that. I hope that you can all help. I am asking that anyone who has a friend or loved on in the WV prison system to write a letter to Governor Wise, and the Senators and PM it to me. My plan is to send them all out together, in seperate envelopes, on the same day, and clog the mail system here in Charleston, until someone finally realizes that we are not going to stand for our family and loved ones drinking kool-aid water, or sleeping in floors double bunked below toilet level, or to have no movement in the facilities...so that they may be plagued with atrophy of the muscles, or the lack of medical care, so that they may get the flu and die....IT HAPPENS LADIES!!!! Ronnie's cell mate at another facility died from the flu....he watched that poor soul die. It is awful. And anyone else who may not live in WV but does not care to help....the Governor here is Bob Wise, the Senators, Byrd, and Rockefeller. PLEASE!? Ronnie and I both beg of your help.

Remember also that people not affected directly by our prison systems don't understand what goes on. I plan on writing letters to the editor of the Charleston Gazette newspaper as well, to inform the public of what really goes on in these facilities...so that maybe just maybe someone with a heart out there may help as well.

I thank you ladies in advance for your kind assistance in this matter.

and Remember.....God loves us all, convicts or not he is merciful, breaks bars of iron, gates of brass and chains of steel, never give up HOPE!!!

Thank you
~Amber

First of all, Welcome to PTO  and the WV Thread... If memory serves...there have been a few people on PTO that has had a difficult time posting also. As long as your posts don't go against the PTO rules and regulations, then it may just be a technical problem. Try it again and see if it works...your last post worked just fine...

Good Luck,

I for one think it is terrible the way that any inmate is treated in any facility. When my fiance was in a newly built jail here in Camp Verde Az. Part of the jail was freezing cold and the other part was boiling hot. I took our then newborn to see her daddy and it was very cold in there. And it appeared they ate alot of sandwiches because the guards who check you into visit were eating sandwiches also. I asked my sweetie and he said the kitchen was not fully operational so they ate sack lunches alot. "A not so good friend of mine She thinks any and all inmates should just be put to death no matter the crime they commited. And stop taking up our tax dollars to live in a cell." Hope she or a family member or her boyfriend never go to jail or prison. I am sure she would change her tune then.
