Hi Wolf...it's October already!!!! My birthday is this Saturday October 4th and my birthday present is that my Daughter will be coming home on Monday October 6th!!!!

We are leaving on Friday to spend the weekend at CCWF so my "adopted daughter" Sheila can see Makenna one more time before she leaves. It will be hard to leave Sheila there and come home without her!!!!!

Happy birthday! Very happy to hear your long wait is almost over. Hopefully next week you will come back and tell us a bit about how the homecomming went...

Also, it makes me wonder about something -- how many regular PTO users stop logging on once their loved one is released? I could understand why one would want to put everything in the past and get on with a new life and a new day, and I could imagine that while sympathetic to those on PTO with family in prison, it would keep re-opening the wounds with bad memories to keep hanging around here. Has anybody looked at how often people leave PTO for this reason?

I will not be going anywhere Guerre, this is my family and I have too many friends here!!!!

Also I have my girls at CCWF! For as long a they are there I will be here!

I may take a break to spend some time with my daughter...but we will both be back!

Thanks again, Wolf, Guerre, and JC for the well wishes! We will be leaving tomorrow and staying the weekend to do visitations. THEN bringing my daughter home on MONDAY!!!!!!

Hi everyone...good to hear from you! My daughter is home and doing well...she only had one meltdown so far...said she was overwhelmed since everything has changed (house, neighborhood, brother, cousins all grown). But we did some shopping and she has been eating everything is sight and this week was much better!

We are in the gym this week and it has been doing her some good. She still won't sleep in her bedroom (likes the open feel in the family room) and she says the windows in her room 'creep' her out!!!

All will take time so we are letting her ease her way back into "normal".....what ever that is! LOL!!!!

JC....please let us know what happens to you...I will be praying for your brother AND you! Please keep us posted if you can, if you get shipped we will be waiting for you when you get back!

Wolf I am glad your job is working out! Long hours....but I bet you are having fun in spite of it. Hang in there.

Hi Everybody,

Still recovering from a very long business trip... I've just passed 100,000 miles flown so far this year on United Airlines (63 separate flights)!

While I was away another letter came from my friend in CCWF. She says it's pretty much the same crap day after day and that she has a hard time thinking of something to write about. I can't see how that could literally be true -- more like there's nothing she's WILLING to write about, given how stressful things are and how putting anything on paper that betrays weakness could cause problems inside should it become known.

I'm happy to see that she isn't "on the hustle" in the sense of trying to get me to send her money or whatever. All she seems to really want is letters from me --- she says she feels abandoned by the people in her life who have already forgotten her after only 2 years inside. I suppose that happens a lot to women who get locked up; rather less so for men who get locked up.

I'm going to send her another letter in the next couple of days then I'm off again for two solid weeks of business travel.

I'll check in from time to time to see how you guys are doing...

Hey everyone my mom is locked up here in CCWF for the last 9 yrs & im going to see her this saturday & sunday i am so happy ..But i get so stressed out cause i have to leave her there for about 6 more years does anyone get sad & stressed out when you have to leave there loved one there......i miss my mom...... :(

Hey Mumbles....welcome to the CCWF chat thread. I am sorry your Mom is at CCWF and we all know how it feels to leave a loved one behind.

Not only is there a bittersweet feeling when you leave to go home from your visit (really glad you got to spend time but sad to be separated once more) at least it is good to know she is in one of the better facilities for women.

I have several women I sponsor some with sentences that will out live me and they all have been moved to CCWF. They all have said it is better than the prisons they were shipped from. There is more opportunity and better programs than at most other prisons since it is the largest woman's facility in the nation.

You found a great place to vent and lots of shoulders to lean on here at PTO. God bless you and your Mom, one day she will be home again and you will look back on this time as a blur!
