Listen, if you are a family member of a prisoner, there is a group in Wichita that you MUST know about. It's called SFTI (Strong Family Ties Initiative). If you have children then you would have received a letter in the mail in the past 4 months. This organization is so great. They work with the kids and the parents and they specialize in helping get adjusted to living in this way. They also help prisoners find work and they are currently offering Parenting classes in Hutchinson, Eldorado and other facilities. They meet each Monday night, and if you cant' get a ride, they will come and get you. They are mostly volunteers and they aren't a babysitting service, but they care about it. The director started this because her husband was in prison and it really shattered the family. I didn't want to go, because I am involved in my church, but I gave in and went, and they have gone over and above to help us. Check it out if you can! It's on East 2nd Street near the I-35 ramp.
