Eastham Unit ended up accepting 500 inmates from the effected coastal units. Immediately, following the acceptance of new inmates the unit went under lockdown.

Eastham experienced power outages and a loss of water during the hurricane and still had no power / water on Sunday 9/14.

After calling the hotline they have not decided if visitation will take place or not this weekend. Please call the hotline or direct unit # before you drive out there this Saturday.

Mail: Mail can be sent to the unit and be sent from the unit just as before. There is a short delay in the sending and receiving of mail from the unit.

An example of that delay is as follows:
Mail out on 9/11/08 delivered on 9/15/08
Mail out on 9/12/08 delivered on 9/16/08

So expect a extra day or two in the delay of your mail for the Eastham Unit.
