candy 12-02-2003, 01:37 PM My fiance made it home Nov. 25th. We had a rocky first couple of days because I wanted to spend time with him and he wanted to be around family and friends. I won the fight though because he spent the first night with me.:) Things are going pretty good because he got a nice paying job at $9 an hour. He gets lots of overtime and the boss likes his work. This is a man that went in prison at 19 and had no work experience. He is now 35 years old. He managed to save close to $1000 while in prison. How he did it, I don't know. It was good because he didn't have to come out and depend on anyone. He was even able to help me out a little. God is good. I will hopefully be posting a sucess story soon. It is still early, but all of the concerns that I had before he came home have now vanished. I was worried that he had become institutionalized. He shows no signs of that. God bless everyone and continue to pray for and support your loved ones. It will pay off in the long run.:)

samiam158 12-02-2003, 05:30 PM That is beautiful...good luck and let us know the progress...one can only hope that after years in prison they don't all become institutionalized...
ToughTimes 12-02-2003, 05:40 PM Best of luck to the both of you! It's a hard road, but it can be traveled just fine if both people are into making it work!!
When Trey came home, he had $500 to spend because every time that anyone sent him money, they took a portion of the money and put it into his release account. They could not touch the money until they were cut a check on the day of their release. This is to provide them money for food and clothes, in case they don't have people like US to help them out!! :)
Keep us all updated!!!!
Brads g/f 12-02-2003, 07:01 PM thats really great i wish you the two best of luck to and much happiness ....good luckkkkkkk !!!!!!!!
tropical1 12-02-2003, 07:21 PM my guy has been out 32 days now and things are going really well. we did have a couple of things to iron out and i have never been happier than i am now with him. he is working and he is such a different person than when he went in. the whole prison experience totally brought us closer together. we had to go thru all that drama to get to where we are now. we stuck thru it all and i feel like we won the pot at the end of the rainbow. good luck to you both

I'm4Given 12-03-2003, 09:01 AM Congratluations Candy to both of you. Arthur and I discuss how it will be when he comes home, he says he doesn't feel he'll have problems, he's a pretty strong man. I pray and believe that God will lift him up in his new life and help him mow over anything that tries to tell him, "you can't do that". After 10 years of living in another country (prison), you do have concerns as to will he be able to leave that way of living behind. It's scary to learn to trust again, and sometimes some never do, but when they have support on the outside waiting to give them what they need, it makes it easier for them to adjust.
BlueLily 12-03-2003, 11:45 AM Candy,
I wish you both the very best. I am glad to hear things are going well. Keep us posted.

candy 12-04-2003, 07:37 AM Thanks everyone for the congrats.! Things couldn't be better between us! Everyone at home is asking us have we set the date for our wedding. He asked me 10 years ago, but I had just come out of a bad relationship and wasn't ready. We decided to wait until he came home to see how things go. I know I might be rushing things a little, but I am now ready. I felt that God put us together 20 years ago when we met. He is unlike any other man that I have dated and I tell everyone that not all people in prison are bad. I know that there is a saying that goes, "Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it." I will give it a little more time and will hopefully be posting our wedding date soon. God Bless everyone!!
