View Full Version : How often do you cook?
varsgrrrl 12-01-2003, 10:56 PM My younger daughter came home last week and said that her teacher asked her class how often they eat fast food. And she raised her hand for "a lot"?!?!?! I was so embarassed! I cook about five days a week. We have an EXTREMELY busy schedule during the school year but I still try to make Sunday dinner and usually whip something up during the week more often than not. From what I hear from other moms they do fast food a lot more than we do. So I wondered what my PTO'ers do , cook , order in, or fast food? I want to take my own survey.
mrs. hernandez 12-01-2003, 11:20 PM I don't cook at home. I do alot of fast food. I cook 10 hrs a day 5 days a week. I get sick of food.........
lovinbilly4ever 12-01-2003, 11:20 PM cook? whats that? lol i dont cook.
although if it comes out of a box..i am less likely to ruin it..although that is not guarenteed :D i TRY to cook...but, i just have no motivation...oh and i live by myself & wake up at different times each day..so its never definate as to when ill be eating what meal...
mrskendrick2you 12-01-2003, 11:23 PM Hmm, I don't cook, but someone at my house always does, so the poll answers dont apply to me!
B-Ray 12-01-2003, 11:52 PM I cook every day. I use to do a lot of "what if" which ended up with stuff that even the alley cats/stray dogs won't eat!
Learning to use a crock pot or a slow cooker makes life earier! Put it on (low) at bed time and things are done when you get up. I basicly keep things simple, with more favor then fast foods or the bland all you can eat places YUCK! Using those oven bags are grrrreat too! No mess to clean up. :D
Did you know it cost 2/3 more to eat out, then eating in.
tropical1 12-02-2003, 12:20 AM well between my guy and I we take turns. he has been out 31 days and we have been cooking some great stuff. he actually is a better cook than i am !!! he made chili verde and carnitas. made beans rice the whole deal and he won hands down on my mexican cooking!! I made some killer pork chops and homemade beef stew so everyday its something new and exciting!! back to the question we cook everyday.

Phil in Paris 12-02-2003, 10:56 AM I don't cook, my roomy does !! :) He IS the best !!! Our friends love coming home for dinner !! :)
He can cook just about anything !! Our kitchen is full of cooking books. He can cook french food of course, but also chinese, thai, moroccan mediteranean etc !! He just loves it and should have made a lot of money had he opened up a restaurant.
He goes shopping everyday, and NOT in super markets, but he goes to our neighborhood butchers, grocer's, baker's etc, and every sunday morning, he goes to the street market. Everyone knows him, and even in the Chinatown shops he's well known !!!
He can spend a whole saturday cooking a chinese or thai or whatever dinner for friends, he LOVES it.
Needless to say our food budget is HUGE !!!

toi_ama 12-02-2003, 11:05 AM Gosh, Phil, can we borrow him while you're in the States?
Oh------and how is he with duck?
toi_ama 12-02-2003, 11:07 AM I don't cook every day. I cook a lot, but there are some days when I don't want to cook, so I cook ahead on the days when I do cook. Also, my grand-daughters are learning to cook, so sometimes they do the honors.
ladyjasmine 12-02-2003, 11:23 AM I cook everday. With 6 kids I cannot afford to eat out.
LadyX 12-02-2003, 11:54 AM I cook everyday too, although some nights through the week it may be different kinds of grilled sandwiches. Sometimes I don't have the energy left for a full dinner.
Dougsgirl 12-02-2003, 12:26 PM i cook mainly every day but once in a while me and my son will go out to eat

loveSunnyH 12-02-2003, 12:29 PM Cook? What is this "cooking" you speak of? Yeah, my daughter and I know the girls at the local McDonald's and a couple of waiters at Denny's enough to ask about their families!
I'm a BAAAAAD Mommy!!! He'll be home soon, though, so guess I'd better attempt to locate this kitchen that I'm told I have!
jesalx74 12-02-2003, 12:33 PM i dont ever cook - its just me so its not worth all the work :)
JodyAnnShaw 12-02-2003, 01:16 PM I usually cook about 4 nights a week....
Then "every" Sunday, either the grill or the smoker is fired up and going all day. Wether I'm at home, or at a buddies house... Sunday, football, and cooking out all just go together! :)

Toi, as a matter of fact, he comes from South west France, where they make "foie gras". Duck "foie gras", which is better than goose "foie gras".
His mom has a wonderful farm type house in a small village in the Dax area, between Bordeaux and Biarritz. She has her own ducks and chickens and grows her own corn to feed them.
She makes her own foie gras from her own ducks, and also our deep freezer is full of her chickens, her duck "magrets", her duck "aiguillettes" and also her duck "confits". Each time she comes to Paris, we almost need a truck to go pick her up at the railway station. :D Once she came with something like 60 eggs !!! That was funny, but we must admit the eggs she gives us, we can't find the same anywhere in Paris, even in the finest shops !! We also NEVER buy chickens in Paris. Even the most expensive ones are never as good as my roomy's mom's !!

knuffiwelt1 12-02-2003, 02:17 PM cook ...what´s that ???? Huhh...oh yes, I open a box with needles and sauce and make it warm...:D .. if you mean that ...I do cook ..:haha: ..anyway , for me alone ....no !
samiam158 12-02-2003, 02:36 PM with 2 kids who only want pizza or fast food stuff...i find it very unsatisfing to cook...if i didn't have a hubby i never would...so he's out 3 nights aweek...i cook 3 or 4 nights...but i love to entertain and will invite tons of people over to try my new recipes out on....
roc city girl 12-02-2003, 10:29 PM I have 2 kids and a man coming home real soon, so u damn n right i cook (everyday) !! I am on a tight budget so eating out is considered a luxury here. but we did have Burger King today!! LMAO
DENIMBLUE 12-02-2003, 10:31 PM I'm still waiting for the directions...I never received the directions...imagine that! :D
Chevygal55 12-02-2003, 10:37 PM I usually whoop a little something up for me and my baby. When Trav got home we had some really nice family dinners and bar-b-ques. Now it is back to whooping up a little something for me and my baby~
~cheenna~ 12-02-2003, 11:25 PM I don't cook ... I nuke ... with just me it is a waste ... besides, I love my own cooking, gotta watch them hips :D Seriously though, I eat a lot of raw stuff, apples and other fruit but apples are my fav, also veggies ... and a lot of cheese and yogurt with nuts, walnuts, almonds and sunflower seeds.
Oh Phil, you are making me hungry ... nothing will beat those homegrown chickens ... for that matter, anything that is grown on the farm ... have you ever noticed how the yolk in store bought eggs is almost white next to the bright deep yellow/orange of a farm egg ... when I come to Paris I would love to visit your roomy's Mom's farm :)
kensbabe032999 12-02-2003, 11:33 PM i live with my mom, and we take turns cooking. i used to cook without recipes, and that was not pretty. basically, i threw anything together, and if it tasted good (in my opinion, i mean) i would eat it. but lately, she (my mom) has made me start going by instructions or recipes, and i dont mean to toot my own horn, but i am a pretty good cook. i may just give my husband a run for his money, and he was a cook in the free world. but we do it half and half. eat at home half the week, and eat out the other half.
terri
rottn 12-03-2003, 09:07 AM Working 6 days a week and me by myself, I just tell people that cooking is against my religion.......but then again so is exercise, spring cleaning (just have time to do the basics), and being awake when I can sleep!
Valkyrie 12-03-2003, 11:43 AM Always cook (nothing fancy) unless I make cold sandwiches. We used to eat out or get take out food a lot, but I won't spend money on that anymore. Food is one of the easier things to save money on if you're careful.
I make pretty good money, but Don was out of work for a while and we spent all my savings. When he was arrested I didn't have the money to bail him out, and had to get a loan to pay an attorney. NEVER AGAIN! So now I am saving all I can and I when I get some saved I will never touch it except in a real emergency.
Trulykath 12-03-2003, 11:59 AM I love to cook, when I have time....I cook during the week...we tend to "fast food" it on the weekends, cz we're always on the run. For Thanksgiving, I made:
Turkey
Dressing
Mashed potatoes
Green bean casserole
rolls
giblet gravy
I also made a pan of brownies, 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies, and a 2 qt crock pot full of beef stew.
the hard part of eating out for me is getting everyone to agree on where to go....My 9 yr old daughter still digs the McDonalds scene (gag)....and my son thinks soft chicken tacos from taco hell are gourmet......I don't really care for fast food.....no favorites that I can think of....It's fast for a reason....you're in a hurry, and you're eating cuz you have to...it's not about taste....it's about convenience.....I'd rather cook!!!
kath
FriscoLady 12-03-2003, 05:26 PM Linda does most of the cooking. Probably safer that way, and definitely cheaper.
My smart alec son once said that the kids don't let Mom (me) cook very often, because they can't afford an in house EMT! ;)
Patti
varsgrrrl 12-03-2003, 05:39 PM OK, after telling everyone how I cook oh so much I had to do fast food tonight. My older daughter has to cheer a basketball game and I had too much running aournd to do to cook the meatloaf I had planned. I went to Arby's and got the new roast beef provolone....Y-U-C-K!!! Leave that one alone guys. I should've made burgers:(
LADYINLOVE 12-03-2003, 05:46 PM I COOK AT HOME MORE OFTEN NOW. I USE TO SAY THAT I WAS ON STRICK FROM MY LAST MARRIAGE. HA-HA THAT WAS 12 YRS AGO. BUT WHEN I STARTED GETTING SERIOUS W/ JOE I STARTED COOKING AGAIN. MY EX-HUSBAND EXPETED 3 HOME MADE MEALS ADAY W/ HOME MADE TORTILLAS. SO I WOULD DO IT. BUT I WAS VERY YOUNG AND DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER. LOL NOW I WANT TO DO IT CAUSE I LOVE MY HUSBAND. EVEN THOU HE IS NOT HOME YET. I WANT ENOUGH PRACTICE.
lesleyslady 12-03-2003, 07:50 PM Cook??? Not anymore! Those days are over! I cooked everynight for years and years. When my two boys grew up and I lost my husband, I had no reason to cook for just me. I do believe the very first time I met my new Hubby, I told him then that I don't cook. I told him this because I wanted him to know that "I don't cook" and if this was going to be a problem he needed to know right off. He told me that he loves to cook and that would be his job. So we will see, he should be home by July, if all goes well.
lost_princess 12-06-2003, 12:01 PM can you say NEVER
fast food QUEEN
Lysbeth 12-08-2003, 07:21 PM Hey, you left one out! I don't cook AND I don't eat! Well, maybe once or twice on the weekends but sometimes not even then...
I used to work so much at night I fell out of the habit of eating dinner at night about ten years ago and never really have gotten back in the habit again.
Myshele78 12-08-2003, 07:21 PM Unfortunatly at 25 years I am the Cinderella of the house. Not only do I have to cook and clean for my 9 years old son but I also have 3 other aldults in the house who will live in complete nastiness and starve to death if it weren't for me. I guess I prefer it that way because I would rather have it done my way than someone elses....LOL...
Cinderella a.k.a. Kim
tedra6 12-09-2003, 01:46 PM MY MOM AND I LIVE TOGETHER.. SHE DOESN'T LIKE WHAT I LIKE TO COOK SO I HAVE HER DO ALL THE COOKING .. I WORK AT THE GOLDEN CORRAL SO I EAT AT WORK A LOT. IF I GET OFF WORK ABOUT 5 I ALWAYS EAT THEN... IF I WORK TILL LIKE 10 PM I JUST EAT POPCORN AT HOME LOL... I THINK I AM ADDICTED TO IT I AM EATING IT RIGHT NOW LOL
varsgrrrl 12-09-2003, 01:50 PM I love Golden Corral...LOL. We went to one in Virginia, Florida and Georgia. I think there's one here in PA too but whenever we head south we stop there. Good food and it's so inexpensive.
Nuro's Wife 09-12-2004, 12:28 PM I cook about 3 times a week, which is great for me! It's not that I don't enjoy cooking it's just that I would rather be doing something else. Plus, I have 2 teenage daughters and with all of our conflicting schedules, dieting and their picky eating habits---it just doesn't pay to cook more often that that because the food will just end up getting thrown out---and we have no money to waste!
Sadie80 09-13-2004, 12:11 AM My chances of cooking are slim to none.
mrsford 09-13-2004, 12:37 AM I love to cook, but since my husband has been gone I do very little cooking. As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, he and my mother are the ones who cooked during the week when he was home! I have poured myself into my job when he was sent off, and am hoping to get some more education in before he comes home. Because once he gets home, I am not leaving his side! My theory is to have a business up and running we can work in together, therefore be together as much as possible. I am wandering. I don't cook much now, my mother does. If I work late she will put together a meal for us. I love her so much! And on days she is not feeling well or wants to make something I am not fond of, grilled cheese is my speciality! Or crackers and cheese. I could probably live on hordearves (I know I did not spell that right! LOL). Has anyone seen the movie "Mermaids"? That would be me!
Alynn528 09-13-2004, 01:11 AM See my hubby was the cook in our family , I never cooked and really the only thing I knew how to cook was macroni and cheese and tuna noodle cassrole, plus my hubby hardly never ever let me cook when he was home. Now that he is gone, I have too cook but I have learned how to cook more than those's 2 things I already knew how to cook so I told my hubby to watch out because I have been doing a lot more cooking!! My poor son I am glad that he is still little because I know he would be telling me to order out rather have me cook...oh well atleast I am trying!
Retired-26 09-28-2004, 04:23 PM ummmmmi am a busy mom on the go and dont have time to cook so we are always fast fooding it. i know that is horrible but im not cooking till my man comes home and watches ry so i can cook! plus its no fun cooking 2 seperate meals for me and a 3 year old, mcdonalds menu has it all!
babieboo 11-17-2004, 03:09 PM I cook just about everday. I love to cook..i used to have a live in boyfriend and I loved to cook for him. Also I started noticing that I save alot of money by cooking instead of eating out all the time. Plus I feel safer eating my own food.
Cottontail 11-17-2004, 03:32 PM I cook between 4-5 times a week. The weekends or on really hectic nights my daughter and I usually do take out, or go out to dinner. Sundays are almost always dinner at my parent's house.
I work two jobs, so I do alot of crock pot recipes, or prepare (cut up, marinate, whatever) stuff the night before, then I just toss into the oven or a pot. Makes life easier.
My daughter is 10, and is one of the most independent kids I know. :) One of her wish list items for her birthday was the Magic Bullet, and she LOVES the thing. She is pretty handy around the kitchen I have to say, and loves to cook. So she makes dinner for us once a week. She's Amazing!!! :D
westybosm 11-22-2004, 02:18 PM I cook dinner every day except Fridays. But I always make breakfast and lunch every day as well unless im outside.
magoo 11-22-2004, 04:08 PM when i was living bymyself i cooked most days. i don't like fast food and eating out can get expensive. now i live with my brothers and my older brother worked in a very expensive restarurant and has attended the cordon blue school of cooking so i just let him do all the cooking. hes really good.
PhillyGurLL 01-20-2005, 02:40 PM I cook everyday! I can't wait to Julio comes home though! It's kind of different, but I'm the breadwinner while he cooks, cleans, takes care of kids and works a part-time job at night. I NEED JULIO! :)
sellenburg 01-20-2005, 03:18 PM LOL. there is that old saying ...
"dinner will be ready when the smoke alarm goes off"
It is so true in my home..LMAO
I do attempt to cook, but there are times when, uh, shall we say that it is propably better (not to mention safer) to either order out, order in or go and get!
My cooking skills are getting better, no more shrinking brick meatloaf, space potatoes, or petrified chicken..LOL but I am notoriaous for catching the oven, toaster oven and the range on fire.
But most of the time, I do try to make soemthing edible. If I am just to tired, then we have chef boyrdee night, freezer queen night, and the good ole sandwhich night.
And forget breakfast! No one in my family will allow me in the kitchen in the morning. I get the thanks mom but I'll have cereal.
California Sunshine 04-03-2005, 07:06 PM I used to cook a lot when I had roommates or when I was trying to eat healthier or when my ex was still around but for awhile now I rarely cook maybe once a week now,got to start cooking more
babygirl350 04-03-2005, 07:16 PM Although I enjoy cooking, I hate cooking for one. I cook at my work because I have to make meals, however, on my off time, I do as little as possible. I will either eat at a restaurant, get carry out, or scrounge around here for junk food.
I do keep soups, tuna, eggs in the house, things like that.
For me where I live, it really is cheaper for me to eat out as I usually bring home half of it. There is a local diner where I can get a meat, 3 vegetables and rolls for 4.00. I sure can't spend the gas, buy it, cook it for that, not two meals.
JayandMe 04-03-2005, 10:13 PM WOW....I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't cook! :) I mean I can do some meals but....
Funny story;
Just today, my son asked me to make breakfast for him, his brother and their friend that slept over. So after they came back from going to the store to get just about everything I needed haha....I started. What a mess!
1st....my toaster oven has to cool down between toasts....so the first person had toast and the rest of us had oven baked bread that was all hard and gross.
2nd the new flat top stove i bought gets too hot and the stupid eggs were spitting all over and burning me haha...not funny
3rd the hash browns started burning while I was fussing over the rest...threw that pan out! Oh and found out we were out of ketsup when I went to eat the top layer of them lol.
4th I had no idea how to make bacon really....put it in the
microwave and it was kinda rubbery but ok lol
Does that brake it down for ya lolololololol!!!!!
lilithinwaiting 08-19-2005, 11:36 AM I cook daily for myself . I don't eat out. I was grabbing junk food from KFC or Hardees when I would come back from my visits but had to stop , it is so fattening and expensive . I eat alot of salads during the day and then what ever my main meal is for dinner.
irisheyes66 08-19-2005, 01:45 PM If I had my druthers, I'd be cooking every night. But since my kitchen is still "under renovation", I've had to learn to compromise....lots of Lean Cuisine and Healthy Choice in my freezer :D
I love spending an afternoon behind the stove, experimenting and trying out new variations on old standby dishes.
There is no amount of money I won't spend on cookware, imported ingredients, and quality spices.
There are only a few things I can brag about, and my cooking is one of them. I went to culinary school some years back, and have spent a lifetime collecting recipes, equipment and techniques. I used to own a small catering business with my Mom, but dealing with the public took all the fun out of it (go figure!) and now I only cook for those I really care about.
In fact, that's how a person can gauge their standing in my world---if I cook for them ;)
TrophyWife 08-21-2005, 04:35 PM Does microwaving hot dogs and chicken nuggets count? I am a stay at home mom, so i used to cook every day before Jimmy got locked up. Now, though, doing everything by myself, trying to spend enough time online working to make enough money to pay the bills, and all the stress leaves me too exhausted most days. My kids are small, so they love finger food, pb&j, hot dogs, stuff like that. I just make them whatever they want, and that's about it, although i do try to cook a decent meal at least twice a week.
Ok.hummingbird 08-21-2005, 04:38 PM I cook most of the times sometimes my husband cooks which means chineese take out or pizza hut usually once a week.We have one still at home she is learing to cook I love it on the nights she does
:) Sallie
rlewis729 08-21-2005, 10:24 PM I've been cooking now for over 30 years . . . I love to cook! This summer my sons have been home from college and they've been eating good! They always want their friends to eat here. Yesterday I was frying chicken (on a Saturday) and my youngest son came home with three of his friends. They were standing there like, "ummm, real food". I know this is weird, but I get up in the morning, looking in the deep freezer, saying "what will I cook for dinner today?"
I even do catering on the side.
timber_fairy 09-08-2005, 02:38 AM I cook about once a month but most of the time i just don't eat or i grab a yogurt or something like that. Maybe a sandwich, my daughter is used to it and me she just eats whatever when ever. i know thats bad. my husband says he will do all the cooking when he comes home.
shya3 06-03-2007, 10:00 AM Especially when my man was home because hes a vegiterian.
blondebabe 06-03-2007, 10:08 AM I cook eveyday I can't afford take out meals.
nghtwtch 06-09-2007, 08:53 AM I enjoy cooking, it's relaxing after a day of work to prepare a meal. Sort of relieves some of the stress from the job.
redhaired_dolly 06-25-2007, 12:20 PM I cook every day. It's healthier, cheaper, and it's relaxing. Until I have to do the dishes, anyway.
MsAkbar 06-25-2007, 12:58 PM I cool about 3 times per week, I will cook more when Daddy's home
woman_in_black 07-08-2007, 09:47 PM Cooker here! I love food and have been very passionate about the clinary arts. I am starting a catering business soon and have been getting experimental in my kitchen LOL... like Emeril Lagasse says... ya got this with this and BAM! LOL... Only when I am very sick or tired or injured do I not cook (and sometimes still with the tired and injured I am still on my feet or a chair!)
starlitemoon11 09-11-2007, 07:03 PM I'm so busy, I don't have alot of time to cook. I eat salad, t.v. dinners, and other healthy stuff that comes in a microwavable box!:) Once in a while, I will break down and make something nice. Not tonight! Too busy!:)
rosestddygrahmz 09-11-2007, 07:07 PM I hardly ever cook now that it is just me. I usually work 11 hour days, 6 days a week and when I come home I just want to write my nightly letter and head to bed. When I do cook, I dont eat it all and usually end up throwing most of it away a few days down the line.
barbie16118 09-12-2007, 03:58 PM i cook every day. have to feed 3 kids and myself.once in a while we go out to eat.
MidnightCherry 09-16-2007, 07:57 PM i cook but im not good at it
usually its simple stuff
Tom535 09-21-2007, 03:44 PM I can't.. Unfortunately it's true I can't cook. So my best wished always goes to the people who can cook.. You people are great you are all very special
Best wishes the cooking people
Tom
boandmelissa 09-28-2007, 04:02 PM I cook everynight. I have a growing 8yr, I have to cook. I enjoying cooking. I'm always on cooks.com looking for something new to fix
bmarleyluva 10-06-2007, 10:52 AM I dont cook...its just me and the pooches now so I get take out or fast food...I cant wait for PaPa to come home so I can start cooking again.
biglinmarshall 12-17-2007, 08:07 PM I cook every day and so does my husband. Because we run our own business it is easier for us to share the household chores than perhaps it is for some other couples!
LeBeau 12-18-2007, 08:19 AM My home schedule is wierd, I'm on my own two weeks at a time, then have hubby home for a week- When I'm on my own, I only cook a couple of times a week, then eat leftovers or graze on things that don't need cooking.
When hubby is home I cook a real meal at least once a day.
soinlove2004 12-19-2007, 05:10 PM I try to cook as often as possible, boyfriend says i need practice!!! LOL!!! I am not the best cook, he on the other hand is a great cook!!! I miss his cooking every time I sit down to eat whatever I have cooked... It soent come close!!! But he says, "who is going to teach our kids..." I am guessing it is not going to be him!!!
ACarter05 01-04-2008, 04:52 PM I cook most of the time but sometimes I reward myself and the kids by going out to eat
Illinois 05-26-2008, 05:52 PM Cook!
codasgirl04 05-30-2008, 01:06 PM Luckily I love to cook, but even if I didn't the way i was raised the woman do the cooking and the cleaning, I'm not a big breakfast person, dinners are my specialty, i love cooking pasta:) my opinion- it's sad when young woman don't know very much about cooking, It's simple and easy, get some cook books you would be suprised at what you can make, the 5 ingredients or less is a good cook book to start out with. My man has never complained about my cooking in fact loves it that i cook and clean, he has told me over and over the last few girls he was with he couldn't stand that they didn't know how to cook. I rarely eat fast food b/c you are spending more money on unhealthy foods rather than homecooked meals. there are tons of cookbooks and websites to look at to find good meals under 30 minutes, where i live it takes that long just to get in the car, get the kids in the car, fight over which place to go to and then wait in line, get your food and most of the time it's wrong and by the time you get done you could have had a good healthy meal cooked. And I do work two full time jobs and still find to cook every night! Even for myself! Find some cookbooks, check out allrecipes.com, taste of home cook books are awesome!
sari868 06-20-2008, 05:19 PM i would have to pick two answers...i cook a lot and i also go out to eat a lot. food around here is pretty cheap :)
LadyKisses 09-29-2008, 09:58 AM I cook all the time I love cooking it southes my soul and gives me something to do. I couldnt see myself anywere else other than spending time with my daughter or us in the kitchen cookng something up or baking delicious desserts. I love cooking from scratch. I cook the old fashion way yeah it does take alot more time..But it is alot more wholesome in my oppion cause it is cooked from love. And like I told my babycakes I am from the south and one thing I want to do is always cook good meals..Cause u know people always gather were thier is food good food good conversation...I do occasionally like take out but not to much..Though I do love some Bojangles Biscuts and Bo Rounds..hahahaha...
BlueYonder 09-29-2008, 12:24 PM I cook all meals at home 28 out of 30 days of the month, and make a pot of soup once or twice a week. The cooking I do is meant to generate leftovers for tomorrow's din-din.
Cooking is easy, and the food you make at home so much cheaper and less salty. I would cook most meals at home even if I were rich.
Ms Nick Deere 09-29-2008, 12:34 PM I cook everyday except on Mondays that's the day my boys get to be with their dad and it's something that we do as a fam still is to go out and eat out.y kids love it because they don't eat junk food or drink soda etc... so when dad comes they think it's something special to even go to Mc D's or to get something of that nature. I started while my boys were young giving them fruits and veggies and it has surely paid off for me have an 5,3 and 1 year old who would chose an apple over chips! My son at school ws given pizza at school for three days in a row and when he got home he asked can he bring his own food to school cause all they give is junk food lol.
I guess what am saying yes it is good to cook at home but it is also what you're cooking and if you have kids you know what I mean. with all the wieght issues going on with our lil kids. A helpful hint that works with me is when going to the store have the kid chose what fruits grapes, cherrys, apple they would like if they choose it, they are more likly to eat it! Cooking if fun when it's it's healthy, quick and tastes good...
