Does anyone have any word on evacuations at federal prisons in Texas in light of Hurricane Ike?
I know that visitation has been canceled at FCI Bastrop and that they have an evacuation plan in place, but as of last night, no inmates had been evacuated.
Others?

All I know is that my fiancee is at Limestone County Detention Center -- a unit that houses both federal and state inmates. Limestone is near Waco, and many evacuees from south TX were transferred there BEFORE Ike changed course. The best I can tell from reading other threads, each individual unit decides if it can withstand the storm before ordering an evacuation (don't know if that is good or bad!). As a note of hope, my fiancee called tonight, and they were going to have to "ride it out" as there were no evacuation plans that he knew of. Hope this helps, but probably not! Good luck!
