I received a call from Price Daniel and they are having visits. Who knows?

I had already decided to not be on the road this weekend, so now I don't feel "guilty" for not trying to visit, since visitation at Hobby is cancelled.

I know that Dillon would want me to be safe and not risk it, but dang it, I'm only able to visit every other weekend to begin with--oh well.

Has anyone heard any news from out of the Beaumont area? My son is in the Larry Gist unit. I called yesterday afternoon to the Gist unit & they said they were not going to evacuate this time. I have called the 24 hr hotline both today & yesterday and only received a busy signal. I have been up most of the night listening to our local news that has a sister news station in Houston and have listened to CNN & FOX national. They have been reporting on IKE solid for the past 52-54 hrs. I have not seen much news out of the Beaumont-Port Arthur area (east-side of IKE). I have came to the assumption that they can't get into this area yet! I hope & pray that everyone in this area is OK!!! I am hoping that someone closer to that area may have heard some local news. If they indeed even have electricity or communitations.

So, I decided that I needed to start a thread on this topic instead of under this thread " Visitation" Sorry for any trouble, if any, this might have caused.

All visits are not cancelled. I went to visitation today at the Boyd Unit.
