Just wondering if they ever evacuate Harris county jail. I'm thinking it's probably strong enough they don't. Just wondered if anyone knew without me having to make a phone call (they're usually pretty rude when I call, why subject myself to that, right?). It should be interesting if they do move them considering they took 6 hours to move one cellblock across the street!

Thanks,
Lisa

I think the jails are able to withstand hurricane force winds so I'm leaning towards them not moving them. Let us know if you end up making that phone call though.

I'll give them a call tomorrow if they do a manditory evacuation for the 3rd evac zone. Just making sure my baby will be ok (you know, even though he's 23 he's still my baby!) :)

I spoke with prec. 4 (couldn't get through to downtown, of course) and was told they let some of the guys with lesser offenses go to make more room. I'm guessing to relocate other guys there. Hopefully they get the guys from Galveston out of there. I can't believe they're still there.

The entire city has shut down so I am sure Harris County is also shut down for visits.

They didn't move anyone when Rita came through... So I don't see why this storm would be any different..

I also know during Rita that there wasn't any visitation until the electricty and clean up was done..
