Does anyone know how they determine who gets evacuated? TDC evacuted a unit in San Diego, TX and one in Cuero, TX but not a few in between...why? My husband is in Darrington and it's in the direct path of Ike.

I'm glued to every storm tracker website and so worried. We are both born and raised in Dallas so we are not used to Hurricanes.

The only units are the ones that are on the TDCJ website, i am not sure why they haven't moved alot of the inmates, especially the ones in beaumont as they are right there. for all the inmates moved or not i hope that they are safe.

My daughter is at "Plane State Jail" - My question is : I dont know if she has me
listed as a contact for any bad emergency ? (Im worried, and aware of they
have NOT evacuated for hurricane IKE.) What can I do?

my brother is located at Jester I in Richmond (southwest of Houston). my mom called several times to check on him and was told they would not be evacuating, but they would move all "clients" into a safe building. they're normally located in a tin building that would probably blow away in an hurricane. we were assured that the building he would be moved to is safe. hopefully, everyone in the area was moved to a safe place if they weren't evacuated.

Darington did not get evacuated but they are ok. They shut off lights way before storm hit and now they got backup generators running but that's prob just for office and certain areas

yes, the generators are strictly for guard towers and offices. when electricity is restored, then the inmates will have power too.

My daughter is also in Plane State and I was wondering if you know about the mail service. I haven't heard from her since the Hurricane. Have you gotten any mail or any information about mail from there.
