THANKS! NightMagic 12-01-2003, 02:17 PM well when I've sent in money I address like something like This John W/ Warden Inmate number po box I know that the last 3 prisons he's been in the last 8 months there was a differnt po box than the one I send his mail too. city and state and zip I send money orders I make the money order out to John Last Name/ Warden. When sending money it goes to the prison they are at Not Oakdale were the phone money goes because if you send it there It might get sent back are put on the phone accout I hope this helps. lam422 12-01-2003, 02:26 PM thanks! right before you posted, i broke down and made some phone calls...and for all who are interested... if you have a JDCCU bank account, you can call, have them print out a "Counter Check" (a.k.a. cashiers check) for the amount you desire to send, print "Warden (whoever) for (Inmate First and Last name and ID #)" and then tell them the address to send it to and they will do it for you. Plus, you get one free counter check every month at JDCCU. And from what I gathered, at Rockwell you just send it to "NCCF Business Office" with the regular address that you use for inmates. LadyDi 12-03-2003, 03:53 PM For the rest of you, it might pay to check what the rules for your own prison is. My son was at Mt. Pleasant. We made the money orders out just like posted above ( warden for inmate ---). Two years into his 'visit' the procedure changed to (business office for inmate ---) It turns out the warden and one woman in the business office were skimming $$ out of the inmate accounts and they finally got caught. This had been going on for a few years. |
