My son is in the charleston, sc brig and I cant find any phone packages that will let him call me without charging an arm n leg. collect is too much..anyone who can help please.

If he can have them, buy a reloadable phone card and mail it to him. You can reload at any time. Direct dialed calls are MUCH cheaper! If he can put money on a phone account at the brig, that's also a possibility. Send him money orders and he can have them deposited to the account. Hope this helps out.

what you do is order their jack and it plug into your computer and you pick your phone number, i checked and 843 is available (i think that is the area code for the charleston brig)

so you have to have a phone that plugs into a wall, either corded or cordless.

after the trial it cost like $20 for the whole year. and thats the total cost of your long distance. and say you go on a trip somewhere and stay in a hotel that has high speed internet. you bring your computer and your jack. plug them in and plug in the hotel phone. and you got service. there could be some hotels that block this, im not sure, i havent tried it.

so you would make your number a local number for your son to call.

so if he can make the call cheap b/c its a local call for him, then its a good deal. he would not be able to make collect calls to that number b/c there is no monthly bill.
