I just included this in an answer to someone's question elsewhere, but I thought it would be a good idea to make this a post of its own.

When a hurricane hits the Alabama Gulf Coast, here's how it goes...

Prisons / etc likely affected:

Holman
Fountain/JO Davis
Mobile WR
Loxley WR
Atmore CWC
Elba WR


All other Alabama facilities are NOT usually affected by a hurricane on the Gulf, other than occasionally having to temporarily house evacuees from the first group.

Easterling, Ventress, and Bullock frequently wind up housing evacuees temporarily but are not usually affected, though Easterling being the southernmost of these it's always a very rare possibility it could be affected. Usually it winds up housing the men from Elba WR, though.

If it's a weekend, however, this may affect visitation at any or even ALL Alabama facilities, so it's always good to check if you had visitation planned.
