No. Kilby would not be affected (other than possibly having to house inmates evacuated from the Mobile area).

Kilby's not close enough to the Coast or Mobile.

Only facilities south of Montgomery would be potentially affected, and for the most part only the ones in the Mobile area.

When a hurricane hits the Alabama Gulf Coast, here's how it goes...

Prisons / etc likely affected:

Holman
Fountain/JO Davis
Mobile WR
Loxley WR
Atmore CWC
Elba WR



All other Alabama facilities are not usually affected by a hurricane on the Gulf, other than occasionally having to temporarily house evacuees from the first group.

If it's a weekend, however, this may affect visitation at any or even all Alabama facilities, so it's always good to check if you had visitation planned.
