Am wondering if anyone has heard anything about the Goodman Unit in Jasper? Read online earlier that Gustav was headed towards Newton, Jasper and some other little town. Info anyone? Thanks! God bless!

:(Newton told me they would not move anyone as it was safer right where they were. That was before it was expected to be a 5! I know that the town of Jasper was evacuating the elderly, disabled yesterday.
beside the sotrm, My son is in Newton and I have not heard anything from him in close to 2 weeks. VERY unlike him. So I'm worried .:(

CanManzIam - I hadn't heard about that area specifically, but you can call the TDCJ 24 hour Hotline # at 936-437-6127 to find out if they know if they had been moved or not.
phanks - I totally understand about not getting a letter in a couple of weeks. I've been through that on a few occassions with my man. When I freaked out, it turned out to just be that he ran out of writing supplies and didn't have a chance to go to commisary to get more. Don't worry too much, it is likely something to not worry about at all. However, you can always call the unit where he is to make sure that he is ok. If you do call, ask if they had been on "lockdown" recently. If they have, that always messes up the mail and commisary schedules.
Best wishes to you both! :)

Hi Kisa! Thanks for replying. I called the Unit this afternoon, and the lady told me they are not moving the guys. They said the building is strong enough to withstand strong winds, besides....she said the hurricane is moving a little to the east, but I don't think so! I just hope and pray they will be alright! They will be hearing from me again, I am calling again after the storm! Again, thanks and God bless!
