I know this is too late for Saturday visits, but anyway:

HURRICANE GUSTAV ADVISORY (http://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/hurricane_advisory.htm)
(Please disseminate to your respective group members) The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is participating in conference calls with the Governor's Division of Emergency Management
(DEM) and making preparations for Tropical Storm Gustav. VISITATION for Saturday, August 30th and Sunday August 31st will be CANCELED at the following TDCJ Units:

Stiles Unit in Beaumont
LeBlanc Unit in Beaumont
Gist Unit in Beaumont
Beto Unit in Tennessee Colony, Texas
Coffield Unit in Tennessee Colony, Texas
Gurney Unit in Tennessee Colony, Texas
Michael Unit in Tennessee Colony, Texas
Powledge Unit in Palestine, Texas

VISITATION for Sunday, August 31st will be CANCELED at the following TDCJ Units:

Hightower Unit in Dayton
Plane State Jail in Dayton
Henley Unit in Dayton

EVACUATION is in progress for the following TDCJ Units:

Gist Unit in Beaumont
LeBlanc Unit in Beaumont

Family members wishing to seek information on offenders incarcerated in these or other potentially affected TDCJ units may call a 24-hour TDCJ Hotline. The TDCJ 24-hour Hotline Number is: 936-437-6127 Updated information will appear on the TDCJ website as additional information becomes available.

ladyarkles...sure appreciate your time on keeping us informed. I wish I had found this site a long time ago..have had so many questions over time and really had very rough time getting answers....you are great...

Lady Sorry about your son. We had a similar thing happen to my son also while he was still at county. He was hurt pretty seriously and ask for his family to be contacted, was ignored but thankfully a friend working at the hospital notified me. Thanks for the info on the hurricane . I am so thankful for you and all at PTO .God bless

Do you know if the unit 1 in Richmond will be evacuated or not? If so where will they be sent? Will we have a way of checking on our family member that is in the safp or not? thanks for any info you can give to me. I am a new member to the site and don't know how things work or what will happen due to storm..Sincerely, OnlyGodSaves
