Ok, this is kind of an off the way post !
We've had to deal with Arizona Prison system~
Here's the question ?!?!
If you could change 3 things about the prison you're loved one is at what would you change ?
1. Of course, treatment of inmates is #1 (this includes medical)
2. Longer visits (trailer visits would be awesome !!! ..lol)
hmmmmm... the choices for #3......
3. Better food for them regularly and in the vending machines

I could think of more, if I tried but this would be a great start :)

I think I would have given the same three suggestions that you just gave. So I'll just second them!

The only other thing I can think of is maybe to bring "care packages" back for the holidays. And even if they've decided to veto pictures for good, some holiday photos would be nice. It wouldn't kill them to bend the rules a bit during the holidays. I just got back from visiting my guy in Safford, and I would have loved a picture with him.

I for one would like to see all racism seize,all cruel and unusual punishment and normal healthy food

MY three wishes would be:

1: The C/O's must have personalities

2: The Mail room clerk carefully checking the envelope before sending it back stating that there is no UNIT # and stamping it RETURN TO SENDER ...and the unit # was written in BIG LETTERS.

3: No Collect Calls: Just pick up the phone and dial! :)

Those are my 3 wishes!!

My number one would be TRAILER VISITS!!! Other states allow inmates 1 hour in a trailer PER WEEK to have "marital relations" with their spouse. Four 1/2 years without sex sucks!
Second would be allowing 3 free phone calls per week.
Third would be allowing inmates to get on instant messaging with people on their approved lists only. Imagine being able to instant message them? Whoa!
Can I have a fourth? More services for family support and how to help and rebuild their families BEFORE they get home and get back into the same cycle.

I agree with Reidsbaby for the number one change.
Brishay999's idea for "just pick up the phone and dial" would be my second and
third....I think I would like to see more paroles and early releases (for those deserving).

I have an idea. Everyone wants to see the treatment of inmates improve right? Well, I asked my boyfriend to document every incidence of mistreatment he's experienced and witnessed since he's been in there (over 5 years now) and include name of officer, name of complex, and date. What if we all had our loved ones do the same and then fax the stories to every newspaper in AZ? Nothing's ever going to change around here until we make some noise about it. What do ya' think? Good idea?

Me and my guy took pictures in Tucson......my 3 wishes ..would be all of your suggestions plus
1. No more sending our inmates to TEXAS or anywhere else because of overcrowding (deal with it) or let him go
2. somekind of shelter when waiting in line to visit and its freezing
3. familiy visits
