Hello,
My boyfriend was sentenced to Harris County Jail for 1 year. He has been out for 1 year. He was locked up for 10years prior to this for aggravated robbery at the age of 14. Now he acted stupid and ran from the law who was trying to stop him for headlights being off. He got a felony charge for evading arrest with a motor vehicle. We were shocked he was able to get time in county and it being 2 for 1, only 6 months. I was sure they were going to enhance the charge to a third degree felony or even give more time in state jail. But we are good with this. Now to my question.. I listened to my guy talk about county time versus prison time. He said while county sucks, its closer to the family and easier on everyone. I want to know the real truth. Is he just trying to calm our fears? Is it going to be easier for someone who has done a considerable amount of time in prison as opposed to someone who has not?? I have read all the postings and I am just scared that he will get in there and have to fight. Then that will lengthen the time. We only had him for a year and I dont want him gone any longer than need be. Also, what about becoming a trustee? Any comments on that? He has to turn himself in on Sept 15. He thinks I am going overboard and he says its a cake walk compared to real time, but I just want to know for myself.
thanks
