All the funds we are sending thru western union are going to Kilby here lately. I pulled him up on the ADOC website inmate search and they have him listed back at Kilby??? I talked to him tonight and sure enough...He is still at Bibb and has no money on his books??? Has this happened to anyone else? He is at Bibb and Western Uinion has sent his money back to Kilby because ADOC has screwed him up in the system! Gesh!!! DO THEY EVEN KNOW WHERE THE INMATES ARE???? CAN I JUST GO PICK HIM UP AND BRING HIM HOME SINCE HE ISN'T WHERE THEY THINK HE IS??? Wouldn't that be nice???

The ADOC website inmate search is only updated once a week, usually on Friday mornings around 8 am, so it *should* show his correct location on Friday... especially if he just got moved recently?
That information however is just the website info which is uploaded on Fridays, so his actual info in the ADOC system should be correct. I don't know how Western Union gets their information and I was under the impression that the money actually went to a central site and then was disbursed from there. How many times has this happened and for how long? Just once and just recently, or has this been happening longer than that?
In any case I'm sure it will get to him soon and I would expect they would transfer it to the proper place more quickly since it's WU than if it had been a paper money order, which would always eventually get to them though it might take a few days or weeks.
If this is something that has happened multiple times though and has been going on for more than just this week, what I would probably suggest is calling the Business Office at Bibb and telling them what's happening. If he's incorrectly located in the system for funds they can fix it.

This is the stupid thing...he has been there since March...and when they moved him the website showed he was @ Bibb. I don't know why I checked it after Western Union sent his money to Kilby for two weeks in a row but I thought maybe it had something to do with it.
I called Bibb. They said they would correct it but guess what?? They never checked into having his money sent from Kilby to them!
I ended up calling ADOC Headquarters and they said it was still screwed up. They told me they would have someone from finance call me.
Guess what??? NO ONE BOTHERED TO CALL ME BACK!!!
So, after 4 hours and no return call I called Kilby. I explained to them that I have NO MORE MONEY AND THIS WAS SOMETHING SOMEONE AT ADOC DID TO SCREW THIS UP...and guess what???
I finally talked to someone who believes our loved ones are HUMAN!Gesh...We pay these people's salary with our taxes and there is not many of them who even acts likes they care.
You get this complete attitude.."Oh he is a criminal...he can eat out of the garbage can for all I care!"
I am praying that these people who judge others will have thier eyes opened and the reality is....guilty or innocent they could be the next one to end up behind those bars with people judging them!
I don't wish prison on anyone but somewhere, somehow, they need to wake up and realize for every inmate behind bars there are families, children, friends, ect. that love them and more than that Jesus loves them too!!!
I am sorry..this is the nicest way I know how to put this...IT IS TIME FOR OUR STATE TO START PRACTICING WHAT WE PREACH!!
Our governor sits in Montgomery and he calls on the religious community to lend a hand in the re-entry and recovery of inmates when they return home from prison. He even makes a statement that people do not change without God. Well, there are many working for our state that do not care about our loved ones being able to eat, have hygiene products, ect....If our state believes that the religious community can help them when they come home why aren't they helping them while they are there???
I am part of this re-entry committee..I volunteered to help because I am tired of the judgement that our loved ones face when they come home!!! I have worked with the homeless community in our city so I am well aware the number of former inmates who live on the streets because no one will give them a job or the time of day. I see this vicious cycle of them going back because they return to crime once they hit the streets because someone turned them down for work. They can't provide for themselves much less a family so they go back to dealing drugs and stealing..or whatever!
How can we sit in judgement when we aren't even trying to do anything to help??? Only God has the right to judge them! His word says we are to love others as we love ourself. Obviously there needs to some lessons on love in ADOC!
Sorry, but it hurts to know someone made a mistake and you have to go thru an act of congress to get it corrected just so the one you love gets to eat! He has gout and cannot eat that "beef heart" hamburger patty. We can't afford for him to get sick in there with the level of so called "medical care" they recieve. His family is diligent to make sure he has money on his books so he does not have to "negotiate" for food! It just makes me sick to think there are so many heartless people out there. If it were thier husband, thier child, father, or grandfather...maybe they would see things different.

So did they finally fix it, then?
It definitely was a screwup on their part, if it'd been that long.
I was starting to wonder myself because ironically, mine got transferred this week and is sitting at Kilby en route to go to Limestone soon. His usual money order from his folks arrived at St. Clair on Monday - but it's still sitting there and from what he told me will be there 'til the 15th.
So then I tried to send him money via Western Union Thursday and it refused to take the order. I guess his account was blocked at Montgomery's end because he was in transit (tho he wasn't really 'cos he was already at Kilby), and I was a little afraid it might be a while before it was unblocked, but Friday morning I was able get money through and it did go to Kilby. So I guess there is a temporary block on sending Western Union for a day or two if they're moved.
But yours was definitely messed up, someone should have corrected that before now if this has been going on since March. If I'm reading you correctly, it sounds like you finally got someone to fix things, I hope so.
