Consecutive changed to Concurrent??? My Boyfriends Projected release date says 9/20/08. He was originally sentenced to two- 180 days to run Consecutive. (from two different case numbers) The court clerk that I spoke to says that all this is reflected in the release date. She said that once it gets to the sheriff they figure out the release date.
My boyfriend thinks that another, later, release date will kick in when this date comes up and he will have to stay longer. His total time served will be about five months if he is released in September. Would that be unusual time served for his original sentence in Los Angeles County?

Serving your time concurrent is way better than consecutive. Concurrent means that if he had two different cases at 180 day EACH and they run concurrent, then he will only serve ONE 180 day sentence. If they run consecutive, then he will have to serve 180 days, then serve the other 180 days AFTER he finishes with the first 180 days. Both running concurrent means all he serves is ONE 180 day sentence.

Dang, I think I even confused myself there!! Hope this helps a bit. :D

Oh, and if I am wrong, Gryphon or JLS will (hopefully) be by to correct me!!
