I just wanted to let you all know that I went to visit my son today at Folsom and he told me that they said that he is going to be sent out of state in about 2 months. In no way was I expecting this, because all this time I had heard that if the inmate has had regular visits and is a level 3 in a cell that they would not be transferred out of state. I thought it was only the inmates in the overcrowded dorms. He also said that one of the other inmates he knows who has just a short time left is being sent out of state too. I was also talking to one of the other visitors and she said that her man was also being sent out of state. If he is sent out of state God only knows when I will see him again. Just to let you all know that this is happening at Folsom and wondering if anyone has heard anything from their inmate. :sad&blue:

I'm real sorry about that... I just pray that doesn't happen to me. I'm hardly able to visit my husband now, & if he gets sent out of state, I know I'll never be able to see him... How do they decide who goes?

Well I thought for sure that if the inmate was getting visits that they wouldn't send them out of state. I also heard that if someone has got into a lot of trouble while there they won't send them. Also, I heard that if they have a major health issue, they won't send them. But right now it's looking like it could be anyone sent.
I wish you and your husband luck that they don't send him out.
Take care.

I also heard they are transferring inmates whether they want to go or not. However just keep in mind ladies, if your love one has an appeal or any upcoming court/trial dates, they can not be transferred. If they get transferred they can put in a motion to the court or have their lawyers do it for them.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, my son has no court dates coming up or appeals.

OMG- my husband just told me he will be tranferred also...We too heard that if he got regular visits he wouldnt be tranferred-but i guess that didnt matter when they made thier list. He's only been there since April or May. ALso- about the appeal..we are working on that. his attorney has to file openning briefs in september, no official court dates,,,what happens with that? do they bring him back?

I am being told that if your inmate proves he has gang affiliation, he won't be sent out of state because the out of state prisons know it will contribute to the violence that they are slowly bringing to a stable place....
