PIMPA1 01-13-2004, 04:49 AM Yes I wrote with an inmate from Florence Arizona Death Row for 1 year but he stop writing me because I was not able to send financial support.
I hope you are more lucky with your friend!!!
poetery 01-15-2004, 05:03 AM I am serious. I will ask my friend wether your friend really is in financial trouble or not. OK?
Sometimes the boys are really broke -.no money for letter paper, postage, envelopes, they even must buy toothpaste and hygienic supplies or go without.
So let me check this Ok?

antonella_paris 01-16-2004, 03:45 AM I'm sorry but I prefer don't give the name of my ex friend from ARIZONA FL Prison. But when I wrote him a letter asking because of his silence he replyng me in a bad way telling me "Do you think I am so stupid to write to someone if he/she doesn't send me money?". I was shocked about it... But it seems other people also had same problem of mine... I think 80 cents for sending a letter every 3-4 months is not a tragedy... But anyway maybe some prisoner doesn't really need of friendship but just of money... I don't know... but I also don't think all prisoners from US are like my ex penpal... luckely!
poetery 01-16-2004, 08:09 AM Hi Antonella
Well, what you experienced is really bad. And 3-4 letters a year is nothing. I wouldn't even call it a pen pal.
Why don't you tell me the name. I just would tell my Death Row inmate if he knew something about him. He wouldn't make an issue. Why are you so distrustfull. What he did does not seem very nice. And the death row prisoners really suffer of those who mess all up for the others. My pal writes other people since many years and they don't support with money - I know his other pen pals too. No mistrust at all. We email - his pen pals and try to help him. So I really liked to know who it was. Was he on SMU2? which pod?
or give me just his number. I really would find it important. In Texas there was one who betrayed his pals with over 3000$! The others had a right to know who make them all look like liars.
I mean what yours did wasn't a crime like this was this type in texas did. No one charged him. Just the inmates told him his opinion and in his pod no one talked to him for some weeks.
poetery 01-28-2004, 06:50 AM What problems are there with Arizona?
I just have the problem that soemtimes mail doesn't come through.
We write three -four times per week each. And his mail sometimes takes 15 days! That really sucks. I know he always answers within 24 hours.. so it's not him. I need a new lawyer for him. He is innocent 100% - I am convinced. I told him to fire his current lawyer - who is a real loser (this one didn't show up since 10 month - since he has him - never wrote, never answers calls, never emails back). Lawyers are so hard to find! Good ones.
Do you know what I could do?
dara_dee 02-07-2004, 06:19 AM Does anyone else here write to Robert Jones in AZ?
Marion 04-09-2004, 05:43 AM Hi, I am from Holland and I have a penpal in Florence too. He's in SMU II, and where is your friend? It's nice to find someone who has a friend in the same prison. If you want to you can always E-mail me. You can even do that in German, which will probably be much easier for you.
Liebe Grusse,
Marion

Eldon's wife 10-17-2004, 06:49 PM I have a very close friend at SMU2 and for the record he expects nothing from me. He is very excited that I will be able to visit soon, but has told me he does not need my money. He says he has cared for himself thus far and he does not want to leave me and my children in a bind, in any way. It does upset me terribly that an inmate from the row anywhere pulls some BS and gives them all a black mark against them. Many of the guys have noone and such nonsense can cost them the chance to have a friend. Myself, I have a dear friend that I treasure and hope to see within days now, for our first visit.
JustChendy 10-18-2004, 08:25 AM I too have a friend on Arizona's Death Row and he is one of the sweetest people I have met. I also told him if he needed anything like paper, pens, stamps,or a book or something to let me know and I would try to help him out and he flat refused saying that he would never wanna take away from my child. I told him I was offering but he still told me no! I thought that was really cool but told him to keep me in mind just in case. Some guys do try to take advantage of people but I try not to pre judge someone based on someone else's actions.
IceBlueSparkle 10-18-2004, 02:04 PM I also have a pen pal on death row in Arizona, at Eyman. :)
I also have a pen pal - more than a pen pal really - on Eyman in AZ. Not all of them ask for money - I've offered it to my friend, but he has flat out refused. I did send him a present for his birthday, and he has sent me lovely things through his family.
Is there currently a problem with Arizona? I've been waiting for a letter and none have come...I'm starting to get worried.
REGSQINMATE 11-10-2005, 06:15 AM I have a pen pal in SMUII-Eyman. The mail has been ok on my side. Although, his last letter took awhile to get to me. I just figured it was because of the holidays coming up. If you need anything or have any questions about Arizona, please let me know!
fellunii 11-10-2005, 02:54 PM all though my man is not yet in prison while he has been in jail id say i have sent him several loooooong letters he has received one not sure wat the deal is but he thinks im not writting him.this just started happening since sep of this year
Eldon's wife 11-10-2005, 10:46 PM I married the love of my life on June 15th, 2005. He is unfortunately enduring the torture of SMU II, in Arizona. We pray daily for relief from his wrongful conviction. If you want to talk, give me a yell. After surviving the wrath of hurricane Rita, I have relocated to Florence to be near my husband for awhile. I am not only fairly familiar with the unit, but getting familiar with the area.
