Does anyone know if I can send a back pack with my son's dress outs? Since he'll have to travel on a bus and a train, a bulky cardboard box or a plastic bag doesn't seem right to travel with.
Thanks,
Bryansmom

I've never heard of that and assumed it could only be clothing - but call R&R at the prison and ask. Better safe than sorry. :D

Congrats on his homecoming!!

Thanks Aliferzwife, can you tell me what R & R is? And does anyone know what phone number I would call?
Thankyou,

Excellent! Thanks for posting that for others to see (including me :D). That is very cool. I wonder now if ALL prisons will allow that? Hmm...

Sure, glad to contribute. Also, they told me not to pack anything in it, put the clothes seperate in the box,& i.d. in a baggy if you're sending one. Don't try to conceal anything.
If other prisons won't allow a regular backpack, I did see one made out of netting at WalMart.

Does anyone know what address to send the Dress Outs to? R & R never answer the phone! Does it go to R & R or the inmates housing address? (I don't know the P.O. Box for them anyways.............)
Thank you.

I just got through to R&R this morning and they said to send them to the regular address you write letters to. That means you have to send them USPS, no UPS or anything since it is a PO BOX. My man is housed on 3-B bldg 2. They told me just label the box clearly on all sides with either dress outs or parole clothes written on it and Then I just addressed the box as follows

CSP-Corcoran
Inmate Name A-12345
PO Box 3466
Corcoran CA 93212

I did not put the housing number on the box because it does not ever go to their cell. The packages go from the post office to the recieving wherehouse where they are sorted and then sent (usually the next day) to R&R. At least that is what R&R told me today.

Just an FYI this could take a while. I lagged and now I don't know if they are going to get there in time. The CO said probably not, so make sure you give your package at least 2 weeks. They don't want you to send them any sooner then 30 days before the release date though. They sure have a lot of rules.

I was told at R & R to send the dressouts to
4001 King Road
Corcoran, Ca. 93212
and to mark on all sides of the box DRESS OUTS.
I did this about 2 weeks ago, sent it thru the post office and he told me today that he got them.

Hi there and congrats on him getting released.

See this link and see if this helps. And mail the dress outs to the STREET address, not the PO Box, with "dress outs" all around the box.

Hope this helps, if not, please leave another message and we will try to get you an answer. ;) Or, just call the number listed on that link to R & R. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONE!!!!
