I haven't been able to spend much time here the last several weeks but when I could peek in there seemed to be some new names.

Since so much data was lost can you re-introduce?

My husband is in Morgantown, he's been there since January. He was sentenced to 5 years.

I have made a few wonderful friends on this web site and I am so grateful. There was one instance where a gentleman was going to be arriving at Morgantown, I had met his family member on here. I had my husband introduce himself to him when he got there. They became instant friends. And I believe it helped the gentleman arriving feel a little more comfort.

And that comfort was because of this forum! A few of us have gotten together at Morgantown for the weekend visits, staying at the same hotel, dining together, etc. It was great for my kids to meet and befriend other children who are in the same situation.

God bless all of you as we go on this journey!

Kim

Hi Kim,
I too havent been on here very much lately...I have read a few new posts and even replied to them but I'll be darned if I can remember the names of the new people....Also I can't remember if it was you or LeeAnn that is going to Morgantown in September...I went up for the day this past Saturday, it was a good visit but I tell ya it is so depressing...He is so down and he has lost so much weight...I hope you and your family are all doing well.

It is LeeAnn going in September. I don't kow when we will get to go again. I am hoping to go when LeeAnn is there. The kids all really hit it off!

Maybe we can all get together again. When do you plan on making another trip?

I would like to make a weekend trip in September, I may actually go again this weekend...My oldest boys father lives in Morgantown and I have to meet him half way to pick them up so if I'm feeling up to it I may just drive all the way. Once the winter time comes I know I will not be making many visits. The roads through the mountains get really bad and Chance has already warned me he will deny my visit if I drive through bad weather to get there. (LoL) I can't remember the dates that LeeAnn is going.

Hi guys,

I am arriving in Morgantown the night of the 20th so we can visit on Sunday the 21. we will also be there that week and the following weekend, I plan on leaving the 28th after visitation. the night of the 20 we are staying at the Springhill suites and then check in at lakeview golf and spa on the 21 - 28. The Buckwheat Festival starts that Thrusday and goes till sunday, sounds very WV. I know there are fireworks, parades, and lumberjack things along with pancakes and sausage.

I am thinking of taking my boys camping at Tygart Lake up there one of those weekends...The boys have been bugging me and I figure if I am going out of town I might as well make it were I can get a visit or 2 in...I will let you know what weekend I decide, hopefully it works out...I went this past Sunday, the visiting room officers were terrible...they sent me away because they considered my capri pants shorts but they were pretty much touching my calf (yet there were women with see through shirts and shorts above the knees)...I didnt make it back from getting new pants til after they locked the compound for count...by the time all that happened we didnt get to visit til 11:20...It was so disappointing....My 2 yr old screamed and cried " give me daddy, I want daddy" as I left out to go buy new pants and then it was much worse when we had to leave at the end of the visit.

I hope everyone is doing well !

Tygart Lake is a state park in Grafton, WV. It's about 45 minutes away from Morgantown. I used to take my kids there all the time when we lived in Morgantown. There is also Chestnut Ridge state park by Cooper's Rock which is real close to Cheat Lake. I am not sure what they are like anymore, it's been about 6 yrs since I've been to either one.

Let me know if you will be there. The kids can get together and play. Since you lived there, what do you know about the buckwheat festival in a near by town? It looks like something I could do with the kids. It starts on Thursday which will be a down day for us.
