Martin Droughn, on Texas death row, is getting married by proxy this coming monday. Others have done so and the brides send their plain wedding bands in to the chaplains to be given to the grooms.
Martins bride called Warden Zeller, on Polunsky, and this is what he said
"If you want him to have a wedding ring so bad put it on his finger after he is executed"
How damn cruel can this creep be?? Please help me publicize this cruelty!
Love, Marta
BillnDenise 08-16-2002, 05:51 AM How awful--that is so mean!!!
~cheenna~ 08-16-2002, 01:36 PM The circumstances surrounding this love are sad enough without a sadistical b#$%^#d thrown into the mix as a warden. It's no wonder there are sooo many grievences on DR!
Fed-X 08-16-2002, 01:43 PM Oh.. Zeller is a real loser.. He sure didn't step up at the protest.. little "bad-azz"... hardly..
michelle 08-16-2002, 10:32 PM how sickening can this man be. Zeller's(if married) wife wanted him to have a wedding band. This man should as well and not be an exemption. Zeller's a DUMBA$$!
ALL I GOTS TO SAY IS WHAT AN ASSHOLE....
freedom anjel 08-17-2002, 12:22 AM He needs a ring in his nose!! In fact, maybe we could kidnap him, tie him up and body pierce him all over the place, inserting plain gold bands in the most uncomfortable of places  . Maybe then he would think twice before denying another prisoner, death row or otherwise. What a skunk he is!
horsegal 08-17-2002, 07:04 PM Oh my goodness!! That is the worst thing I have heard. I cannot believe a warden would say such an awful, and unprofessional thing. How can he get away with that?

~cheenna~ 08-17-2002, 07:52 PM Hi Sharon, WELCOME to PTO...
"how can he get away with that?"
1)welcome to TX
2)he's the warden
3)welcome to TX
I don't know if we are the worst state as far as treatment of inmates goes but I KNOW we have to rank in the top 5 of prisoner abuse. I haven't been in this near as long as a lot of the others here but you learn real quick the ghastly hell our loved ones are in. There are some here who have walked the walk themselves and know the horror of it. The Human Society lobbys for and gets better treatment for animals then a prisoner in TX receives.
horsegal 08-17-2002, 07:58 PM I had no idea Texas was that bad about inmate abuse. WOW! I'm sorry to hear it, I thought Ohio prisoners had it rough, but ours sounds like a cake walk compared to Texas.

It's a horrible situation no matter where you are... it's just an issue of degrees. But TX really is infamous where our prisons are concerned, it's a case of bravado mind set. Senior Texan men, especially those in power, are a breed of their own. LOL
danielle 08-17-2002, 08:39 PM An unprofessional, crappy thing to say. The DOC has too much free reign - when an organization is in charge of itself totally and completely and unaccountable to anyone, then that organization will at times take advantage of the situation and practice cruelty.
~cheenna~ 08-17-2002, 09:02 PM Amen Monica, amen.
They WILL answer for it in time...
Cameo 08-17-2002, 11:28 PM Wow...I wish just for a few minutes I was on that phone with Zeller, he'd hear exactly what I thought of him...&*$%...
Can't wait to make a sign or something when we go there next March.....ummm....thinking...!
Valerie 08-18-2002, 11:20 AM He has no business being a warden, he's sick
Bambi69 08-20-2002, 10:34 PM Texas is a very cruel & harsh prison & alos the jails (Dallas) really do sux. They are so cruel & unhuman to the people in there treta them like caged animals.Sleep on cold concret floors no blankets, no hot meals bologna sandwiches & gross so called kool-aid frozen .
~cheenna~ 08-20-2002, 11:31 PM Hi Bambi, and WELCOME TO PTO
Yes, I have heard a lot of bad stuff about the county and state jail up in Dallas. I realize prison is not supposed to be a picnic and a little common decency would go a long way. It is a real shame the tide can't be turned for about 2/3 days. There'd be some big changes then I sure.
Bambi69 08-20-2002, 11:42 PM true prison is suppsoe to be a place that is for the harden crimminals to teach them a lesson but there is such thing as going to far,& these jails/prisons does for they think you dont deserve to be treated like a person or human. They look down on you.which I dont care who you are,we all make mistakes, but yes there are some that are repeats, that deserve more of a harsh punshiment but no human desrves to be treated that way, we all still have rights no matter what
Shortie 08-21-2002, 06:58 PM oh my goodness I am so sickened.. Regardless of how he feels about the inmates he should have NEVER said that to a family/frend of an inmate that is completely uncalled for and ludicris.. What an A$$&^*!
