I was wondering what type of phone carrier that Hazelton uses? and if anyone has the number. so I can add pre-paid min. on my phone so i can recieve phone calls and how long do you have to wait before you can visit someone at the prison, if they just went July 7, 2008?

Phone calls from Haz are all inmate-initiated, and charged to their personal accounts. No phone cards.

Hi cubcake2, if your inmate has been somewhere before and you were on the visit list you will still have to submit news ones all over again. They should follow the inmate no matter where they go but at Hazelton we have to resubmit. Once I sent mine it was applied that same week. Be sure you get the name and address for his counselor and send it straight to the counselor. One family sent it to the address for the prison counselors but did not put the counselors name and it took almost three weeks to be found and then applied. It was sitting on the desk of a counselor that was on vacation andthen returned and since it was not their inmate they just left it there on the desk. Hope that this helps. Welcome to the Hazelton group.

Cubcake2, almost forgot to tell you that you can call VAC and set up an advance pay account for your phone number so he can call. It cost about $6.50 almost $7 for 15 minutes. Their number is 1-800-786-8521. If you have a credit card or debit you can do it on line at this site: http://www.myvconnect.com/vconnect/VConnect_intro.html

Hope this helps.

Welcome cupcake. You can add money to your own phone as Wifey suggested, but I think everyone will agree that it is better to send your inmate the money and have him apply it to his phone account. It is way cheaper to do it that way.
