Has anyone heard Elmore is going to be made a medium prison and that they are shipping inmates back from Louisiana there.:confused: The rumor is everyone already there will be made medium security even though some are minimum in. How is this?:eek: How can their security level be increased just becaude they are making it an all medium security prison? Has anyone else heard this or any other things about Elmore? :confused:

I was told that Elmore would become a level 4 facility on July 1st, but I have no idea what this means. I cannot find anything about the different levels of security. The ADOC website for Elmore only says that inmates are classified as minimum-in custody or minimum-out custody. Maybe someone else has an explanation.

Thanks for the reply, but this is sooo wrong changing someones level when they are minimum custody. They earned the minimum custody and should be sent to a work camp then work release. This sucks....happy for those coming back because they have been away to long. But if your going to do things do it right and be fair about it.. :argh:Not just what you want to do. Abide by the rules! So what the hell is up with this?:confused:

Hello, I have not heard anything changing on the level/security of the camp and we just talked late last night. He did not say anything to me and he always tells me or lets me know whats going on in there that he feels concerns me/us. Next time that I talk to him I will find something out 'cause I agree. They earned the privilage to be where they are at and that's how it should stay. He has been there since Sep. of last year and has been waiting to hear about work release or work camp and is suppose to go up for parole again in December. Like I said I will find out from him next time I talk to him.:confused:

My son got a write-up at Childerburg and has been at Elmore awhile and they just all of a sudden started his punishment after he has already been their at least 2 months or more, them they started hs restrictions the other day???
He has been there long enough to change his status but the classification officer just up and decides well we are going to make you do your 30 days no money or visits stuff. Beats me, that should have already been taken care of, so now he has to wait 6 more months to come up for review again. Well we did get good news he is getting ready to take SAP again and hopefully it will sink in his hard head this time.
Sometimes I think he just gives up. His great Grandmother, my Grandmother passed
away the other day and all she wanted to see was for him to come home. It just about killed him when I had to tell him, he thought the world of her and made a promise he would get to come home before anything happened to her, but things didn't work out that way, and it's tearing him up knowing that he broke his promise.
So I told him well now that promise falls on the rest of your family and we are expecting you to live up to it. BUt anyway didn't mean to be so long but if anyone finds out what they are going to do with all the minimum inmates please let us know.

Mine is on restriction right now, he kinda lost his temper with one of the guards at our last visit and two weeks after that he got his write up and then a week later he gets his punishment, 45 day restriction and then a week later his restriction started, today I think. Why does it take so long for them to get things done in there? It has been almost a month since our last visit. Anyway when I find out what's going on I will let you know.:banghead:

I did find out that the camp will be made to medium security but those with minimum status will stay the same. My son told me there is alot of empty beds there and he doesn't know what or where everyone is going. He said it was so quiet at night that he can't sleep, because of being use to all the noise. Does anyone know where the others are being sent to? Strange but then again everything they do is weird.:hmm:

They have sent some prisoners from Staton (medium, next door) to Elmore. (from my son's dorm, so I am sure)

So is Elmore going to be a medium camp. My son is going to start SAP soon? Does this mean he will be moved. I don't know what to think and it gets on your last nerve trying to guess what the hell is going on. I can only imagine how they feel.
