My hubby will be eligible for day parole in Oct. I am his support, meaning he will eventually be coming home to me. Am I required to be at his parole hearing? Will they be contacting me at all? I've already met with a parole officer in our community and answered a lot of questions regarding his crime and release plan. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Carrie

You are not required to be there - however, it just shows more commitment and support for him if you are there. I had the community assessment too. Cross your fingers, sometimes you don't have to have a hearing - sometimes they will just sign off on the paperwork.
My loves hearing is today - in about 2 hours from now and I will be there with my sick feeling stomach - God I hope I don't puke. When I come back, I will let you know how it went and what happened.

Thanks for the info and I hope all went well with you today. My e-mail address is carrie.oboyle@hotmail.com. Not quite sure how to navigate around this yet, don't know how to get any messages. Good luck and stay strong

Getting the community interview done was the big step, so the parole board will use that as their main reference for your support. Missing Someone is right, being at the hearing is good not just for the show of support but can help the guy by just being there. If parole is granted, you'll probably be contacted at least once more...how many depends on a few things.
