One can often get rehab as a "condition" of parole or probation (which means the state pays for it, though the choice of facilities often becomes theirs as well). If someone wants it, by all means, s/he should make it known. Getting clean and sober keeps more people out of prison than any other single factor, and thankfully the judicial system is starting to recognize that. At least, when it takes the time to recognize that it is a GOOD thing to have fewer people in prison.... Kristyn24k 12-03-2008, 02:25 AM It depends on what they did. If it's considered a "violent offense" than no. Alot of other circumstances too...backround, criminal history, e.t.c. IloveMike 12-09-2008, 10:40 PM Back in Nov 2007 my bf was arrested he went to county jail then " Federal officers" came and got him and the first time he went to court the federal judge allowed my bf to go into rehab but we had to find him a bed if there was a cost we had to pay for it but he assigned us a Federal probation officer to help of course, which they put my bf on 250,000 unsecured bond, We found a bed on Dec 27 2007 which is stayed for 30days and and came home but had to attend meetings and the probation office set up a monthly meeting with a counselor. All in all it helped my bf but he was sentenced and self surrendered on 10-7-2008, but it help with the probation investivation also lowered his number. Good Luck JudyBohannon 12-09-2008, 10:50 PM Anyone know of a recovery rehab in Georgia that doesn't cost and arm and a leg? My son may be released from jail if he goes into rehab for alcoholics. JudyBohannon 12-11-2008, 08:04 PM My son in rehab is asking us to bring cold medicines with us when we visit him, like Vicks VapoRub and Nyquil. Aren't these used by some people to make drugs with??
