Who's going the 4th of July?

Here's what I noticed about holiday weekends, especially if you're visiting C yard:
Since people have the day off, they're going to be visiting. (So much for gas prices keeping people away.) When I was there the day after Thanksgiving (another day people have off work), I got there at 1:45. The visiting room was full. They had to terminate people. It didn't matter - I still didn't get in until after the count, and my husband didn't come out until 6:15pm. So my advice is to get there late enough that you don't get terminated quickly, but early enough that you get in before the count. Good Luck my PTO family!

POODLEGIRL: Very good advice and very good point!!! For some reason I kept thinking the 4th was on a Thursday..........dang, it's a Friday!!!!! That sucks!

Maybe we can keep our fingers crossed and not many people will go?? Maybe some folks will want to stay behind and have their bar-b-ques, fireworks, etc.??? You know, for the kids sake. :)

I cross my fingers every weekend that people won't go. They show up anyway. I guess I miss the good old days when I got a 3 to 4 hour visit.

But I feel grateful to get to spend any time with my husband, so I'll try to stop complaining so much. ;)

Well whoever goes i wish them the best visit. But yeah for me i need to be with my daughter showing her all the traditions that me and my husband shared when he was home. We both agree it's best. So my daughter is two and full of energy i think it will be so much fun this year.

I think our best bet for Friday visiting will be to show up between 1 and 1:30.

they made an announcement that visiting for next friday will be regular hours...8-2:30 because they're followin the holiday hours && what not.

Nope, not goin with regular Friday visits...hopefully they'll also say that on the hotline, I'm sure they will though. They also had memos posted && available for visitors to take.

I called the toll free visiting line. It was updated today and at the very end of the recording, it says that Level 1, 3A, 3B 3C and PHU have 4th of july visiting from 12:30 to 7pm. 4A, 4B and the SHU have 4th of july visiting from 8 to 2:30.

Check the visiting number before you go, in case something changes.

Which Corcoran are you visiting? If you don't have a clear purse, just put your money in a zip lock bag, I've seen tons of people do that.

Corcoran 1 visiting hours are different than the norm this Friday due to the holiday.

7:30 am to 3:30 pm

My flyer had some military time that said 0730-1530

I assumed that this meant 730-330-----but u know what they say about assuming.

You are in the right forum. Good luck on your first visit. Make sure you double check visiting hours by calling the prison. I have heard conflicting stories about what time visiting is on friday. Let us know how your visit goes.

i just called and the friday the 4th visiting is from 12:30 to 7:30pm do i have to make an apointment if my husband is in 3bo3 help i dont understand and dont want to show up and be denied.

He is in 3b 03??? If so that is where my hubby is and no appointment necessary. From what I understand the only appointment is for the shu????? Good luck

Ok, I just called and the following are visiting hours for CORCORAN 1 for 4th of JULY visiting is as follows:

Level 1, 3A, 3A03, 3B, 3C and PHU
12:30 - 7:00pm (regular Friday hours)

4A, 4B SHU, ASU by appt only between 8:00am - 2:30pm

4B1left?? is on Lockdown and no visits.

I believe you. I also know that the flyer could have been wrong. I mean really........................military time? I wonder what winner did that when they were making the flyers?

Who uses military time, other than the military?

So- the recoring says that the 4th visits are regular Friday visiting hours.

The flyers in the actual visiting room that are posted still reflect the earlier hours and the inmate porters who have "connections" state that visting staff is still under the impression that the earlier hours are taking place.

I called Friends outside the wall this morning and they state that visiting hours will indeed be the regular Friday visiting hours (12:30-7:00) and that a correction flyer / memo is being posted throughout the facility to match what the recorder says.

Too many headaches for me with the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing at good old Corcoran and I think that I will fall back this Friday.

I hope that you feel better. I talked to mine this morning. He was going to call me at 12:15pm but never did. Also said that they were doing dayroom recall early and that he had to cut our phone call short. Haven't heard from him since and phone calls are about over for the day/night.

Hey!!! Yeah, my man called twice tonight. I miss him so much it is driving me crazy. IF I was able to find a carpool for tomorrow I would go. But I don't think I could drive the entire distance since I'm still recooping. :(

Mine ended up calling last night at the latest time possible. The phones had been trippin in his building. I talked to him lots today as well. He said that the porters were called to visiting early this morning (to correlate with the earleir flyer schedule that I had mentioned) and that they were then sent back and recalled at to reflect normal Friday visiting hours. So- there it is.

Girl, if I would have gone, I would have picked you up but we can meet up next week. I'm driving to the OC tomorrow to visit the folks. If you are feeling up to it, call me on the cell and I can swing by on the way home............or even if you just need me to bring you something I would be happy to do it.

Hey ANT'SGIRL.......yeah, give me a call tomorrow when you come down to the OC. Today I wasn't feeling too well. I don't know what is going on. Almost like if I am coming down with something....,hhhhmmm it was weird all day.
