A great Canadian Site for Justice
I am forwarding Canadian Criminal Justice Association (CCJA) web site.
The CCJA is a membership organization dedicated to the improvement of the criminal justice system in Canada. There is a place for one and all.
Justice affects all of our lives and, for that reason, each and everyone should have a say in how it is delivered.
We want to be your voice and echo your concerns. Take a few minutes and find out more about the Association.
As this site grows, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the issues of the day, impending legislation, research, and emerging trends such as restorative justice. More importantly, you can have a say on issues of importance to you.
Watch for excerpts from our Bulletin, our Justice Report, our Canadian Journal of Criminology, and position papers on special issues such as crime prevention, young offenders, and many more.
Our congresses and seminars are key events in Canada; they serve as bridges between people and professions, and shine the spotlight on the most current issues.
Won't you join us?

To dsdgirl... Hi there.. My name is Jeanette and my husband is a Canadian citizen and is incarcerated in California. We tried to get him a transfer to finish his sentence in Canada and were approved by Canada, but the Board of Prison Terms here in California promptly denied the transfer due to the fact under Canadian Law my husband would have been released earlier... Now we are wondering if we should try again and what the procedure would be. He has 4 years left here to serve and we wondered if we waited another year if they might do it since he would have less time by the time the papers went through. Any idea of what we should do? Maybe we should just start pursuing the idea of transfering his parole immediately after his release so we don't have to deal with Calfornia parole... We are going to live in Canada anyway and want to get up there. His dad gave us 5 acres of land and we want to build a home and start our life as soon as we can. Should I visit the website you provided? I will do that and if you have any further direction for us, we would be greatly appreciative.... thank you so much....
