I am new to this and I just wanted someone to talk to. My husband has been incarcerated for fifteen months and I am missing him terribly. I signed up hoping to be able to give and receive support because unless you have experienced what we are going through it is quite difficult to understand. I have a great group of friends who try to be there for me but there is no way that they understand my dilemma because unlike me they get to go home th their husbands every night. So, if there is anyone out there who just wants to talk, I am here.

Thanks

My husband has never been arrested before and has been an upstanding citizen. He was hanging out with the wrong people and got arrested. He got 2 yrs for a small amount of weed and cocaine which were not on him personally. This is CRAZY! I have never heard of this. Why does VA think they could do whatever they want? We have to put our foot down and STOP the madness!

I hate VA! They think that because they're a Commonwealth they can do anything. But it's the people that must control the system not the system control the people. We're becoming a police state and this isn't good. There are so many men in jail for petty crimes such as small quantities of weed and coke. First time offenders are doing time when most states have a first time offender law. This is sick! VA has to be stopped! They cannot continue to imprison young people who have made senseless errors.

Tfletcher, welcome to the PTO. I am was recently released from the DOC prison system and am willing to listen, talk, or answer any questions you may have. I understand what you are going through. I met a few good people over the 5 years and some change I did and they are still there. I am doing whatever I can for them. I would love to make a difference in the Prison world.
