Ok so here goes, I have a couple questions htat I am trying to get answered. I have a friend incarcerated already at an FCI. she is camp eligable and everything they are going to send her to a camp. however, when she requested to go to the carswell camp they informed her she has to have a good address with a family member in the area??? Has anyone heard of this rule. I am just trying to see what the requirements are for an inmate to be able to go to the camp. Also does it matter if the person whose address is given has a criminal record??? even if they have perfect conduct now

Welcome to PTO Im not sure of the requirements of requesting where you are placed at. According to the BOP they try to keep you within 4 hrs of home when at all possible. But I know people from Minnesota that have been sent to Carswell and trust me thats farther than 4 hrs. Hopefully someone will come along that can better answer in your questions.
