Here are just a few folks from the NCDOC who have touched our lives in a positive way during the past decade and a half.

Thank you to ...

Sgt. H, who arranged for me to have special visits during the week when I couldn't get time off from work on visitation day for several consecutive weeks.

Capt. S., who allowed us to have a final special visit when my husband's name came up to be shipped out of state due to overcrowded conditions here (many years ago).

Chaplain B. & Chaplain T., who allowed my husband to call me everyday while I was in the hospital for major surgery.

Capt. B., who once added 10 minutes to the end of a visit for EVERYONE because our visit started 10 minutes late.

Officer G., whose wife prepared food and visited me when I had surgery.

The many officers who have driven my husband to various medical appointments or a new unit and have stopped to buy soft drinks or a meal for him out of their own money.

Chaplain S., for providing craft materials for inmates so they could make gifts for their loved ones.

The nurses, doctors, and dentists who treat the inmates like human beings, not criminals. (There aren't many of these, but God bless the precious few!)

Mrs. H., for ALWAYS being pleasant on the phone when I have a question or concern.

All of the officers who are friendly to visitors and aren't afraid to smile once in a while!

Capt. S., for allowing us to attend Prison Fellowship Marriage Seminars in lieu of pre-marital counseling.

Capt. S., for allowing churches to bring in special food at the holidays so the men could have a nice home-cooked meal. (Different Capt. S from the one mentioned above.)

Officer G., who prays regularly for my husband's release.

The folks in the Raleigh offices who are pleasant, courteous, and helpful.

Sgt. P., for being kind and caring.

Capt. B., for being tough but fair and solving a lot of problems before they turn into grievances.

Thanks, too, to NC legislators and other elected officials who truly care about prisoners and their families!

There will be more added to the list later!
