:eek:Hello everyone. I sent my husband a package in the beginning of May and he still hasn't received it. He told me that they are really behind on package distribution as far as two months. That some guys are getting the packages and some food is spoiled and they can't eat it. He said there are guys in there that are putting 602's in, but on the outside is there anything we can do. He is at CSP1 C yard.
I am calling right now but i can't get an answer. Well really if the guy can't get packages distributed how will he answer my call. :eek:

Calling is not going to help, the man who answers the phone and is a Sgt. is a real prick. I think his name is Ramirez, he is rude and tells you hold on and never comes back to you once he answers. He is going to tell you to have the inmate 602, send your man a copy of the order, call the compnay that you ordered it from and have them call. My man had one pacakge sitting there for a month and when i called Ramirez said to have them 602 it and he was very rude about it.
I ordered my man books in March that he still has not recieved. I ordered him another package under his name for this quarter and he got it in two weeks. I was surprised he got it so quick. i just now ordered him a thrid package under someone elses name and it
Also, unless it has changed it is a female who actually passes out packages, at least this is what my man said. The Sgt. just oversees R&R.
R&R has like 5 different extensions, call the operator and tell them they are not answering the phone and ask them for the different extensions every time you call.

I have been calling all morning to different extensions and nothing...no answer for this person who does packages.

Trust me, they are not going to answer. Finally when they do it will be after everyone is gone.

Hmmm, but do you know if it's the prison or the actual vendors? Have you received a confirmation from them that it's been shipped? Yeah the only idea i would have is to call R & R but that's obviously ruled out if they're mean on that side (csp 1).... they don't put a list out on the yard when package has arrived for the inmate, and then they can go in the morning to the window? no? maybe the process is different....

The vendor has confirmed that the package has been signed for at CSP. From what i am told they only have one guy who distributes packages. He doesn't work everyday so they only distribute packages when he is there. IF he isn't there it doesn't get done. There is a list that is posted with the packages being distributed but like i said he is really behind.

Ok, for those of you that know me, me and my man "T" have been together for a pretty long time and have a pretty good, communicative relationship. I'm starting to have a little bit of concern and these are the reasons why, regarding his QUARTERLY PACKAGE.....

Here's my scenario and I will follow with a couple of questions:

Ok, I surprised my man with his third quarterly package. Usually we will talk about packages but I won't say if I will be financially able to send it. So when I do, it is a nice surprise. And in this package was something extra special he had been wanting and needing. ANYWAY..........

Ok, I received the receipt that the package was sent on a 9/15 and received 9/17 at Corcoran....Ok, two weeks go by, three weeks, then four.. So I asked my "T", what the heck is going on? He tells me, "they" are trying to say I received another package when I never did. You are the only one that sends me packages. So "T" sends a couple of notes to R&R trying to resolve this, but to no avail of course.

So, I told him I am writing the Chief Ombudsman (KH) (in Sacramento) and the one below him, (JC) also located in Sac to try to resolve this to let them know you did not receive and see what kind of assistance they can provide for me. "T" said ok, see what you can do. I even gave "T" the opportunity to tell me if someone else sent him a package and if not, then I was going to write the local Senators, etc. to get answers. He did not once try to stop me and say, no babe, I did receive, NOTHING! He knows better not to make a fool out of me, but would if???

Anyway, I wrote them, and got "JC" replying back with a cc to the local Ombudsman on site at Corcoran, "RG". They appeared to be helpful in the beginning, but were still lagging on the info I needed, as in getting a copy to "T" of the invoice of the other package. I said in my Email, if I don't get or "T" doesn't get what he needs (copy of the invoice of this package) then I was going to write the local Senators by COB that day. Next thing you know "JC" is going to Corcoran on Monday to investigate. I was pleasantly surprised and thought great! They said they would call me after they (RG & JC) investigate the situation.

So they call me. JC was the main talker on this speaker phone conference call. JC stated that she looked at the invoice and compared signatures and "T" signed for it and has acknowledged he received that one prior to receiving the one I sent. I couldn't believe it. I felt almost devastated and said, WHAT? No way! I don't believe it. THEN JC continues speaking that he is "an inmate and will say whatever he has to say"; "remember he is in here, in prison and this is what inmates do"; AND THEN the clincher was when JC said I notice he has the letter "C" on his number, which means he has been here for a long time, I don't see many "C" anymore. I said yes, he has been in there for over 26 years. Then she asks, Oh, is he a Lifer? And I said Yes. And then she says, "He isn't coming home. He has a C on his number, he won't be coming home!" I got emotional when she said that and started to cry. First I couldn't believe she said it; Second, it hurt immensely just hearing that. THEN she begins to ask if I have children, and say yes a 17 year old son. She then says, your money you spent on this package would probably be better spent on him or other responsibilites you may have. You may need to get focused and think about this, remember, he is an inmate, he is in prison! YES SHE DID SAY THAT! I just had to end the call cause I was so upset.

I started to think, Dear God, has "T" lied to me? Wow, I can't believe this! I cried but then I got thinking more!!!

So I replied back to her and told her she was WAY OUT OF LINE for saying what she did to me, etc. and I quoted her, etc....And I sent a CC to her supervisor (KH). I told her mine & T's life is none of her business etc. So she replied back and of course misquoted herself of what she said. So I replied back, ONLY to her Supervisor, NOT to her. I stated her misquotes, etc. and how the prison system really sucks when you are trying to get info and felt bad for the inmates & felt their frustrations because they are in there and am sure it is more difficult for them to get what is needed, etc. And how Corcoran's reputation is well and kicking! (in so many words) So we will see what he says.

MY QUESTIONS ARE:

1. Have you EVER run into this situation, or similar regarding qrt. packages?

2. If so, what was the outcome and what did you do to resolve it.

3. Has your man ever lied to you about this? If so, how did you deal with this. This has never happened to me, EVER! So, do I doubt "T"? But of course I feel my obligation to him, as I'm sure all the Ombudsmans will support each other.

SORRY THIS WAS SO LONG, BUT IF YOU HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO READ IT ALL, AND REPLY BACK, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I guess this is also a venting session and an Information session of what they are saying about inmates. :angry::blah::mad:

but ya right now i am dealing with some stuff. they tried to give my babe the wrong package and just told him to have me send the confirmation. so i know how the mail has been taking forever and so i called r&r and ya i got nothing from that guy. i thought maybe i could send it directly to them to help speed up the process. but nope the guy was rude. so now i just am waiting to hear what he says when he finally gets his confirmation and takes it to him. this sucks super bad. its not like money comes falling out of the sky to pay for this and now it is going to take days for him to get it if he even does and now i have to send him money which i hate doing because they are still taking restitution. it is just another shitty thing that we have to deal with. i hate it!!!!!

That lady you talked to had no right or reason to lecture you about your relationship. I'm glad you called her back and told her how inappropriate her comments were.

I've heard of inmates who either can't get packages, or ones that want more than one package a quarter having their families send packages to inmates who can get them. And then whoever received the package gives it to it's rightful owner, and they'll get coffee or food or canteen as payment for receiving the package.

Before the situation gets any more upsetting, get his side of the story. And then go from there.

And you're right - Corcoran stinks!

I am so sorry you had to go through a grueling ordeal like that. Yes, last summer I had gone through a similar situation. I had ordered the first package for him when he first got there and it was shipped and received by Corcoran Warehouse according to Access. Talking to so many people trying to help me and even demanding to see the LT when I had gone to visit to see where this package is after 4wks of receiving it. I spoke directly to Sgt Rangel who oversees R&R that handles all packages and I bugged him 2-3 times a day. Even when they talk down to "us" non inmates, you need to remind them we are not the inmates, just family and to receive that type of treatment is unprofessional. It is their responsibility to find out where this package is and you want them to look up there log in list for receiving packages for this so called date of recieving package. They can issue you this. You can also call the vendor and ask them what date it was received by prison's warehouse. The warehouse also keeps a log and tells you the date it was received and sent to R&R. Yes, I found my package and it was sent back to Access FOR NO REASON AT ALL! I'm pretty sure that they were covering up their mistakes. If you need further help please let me know. I also had the Facility Captain involved to make sure the investigation was taken seriously.

Okay, there could be a possibility he forgotten that another inmate ordered a package under his name for someone else? If he sticks by his word, don't doubt him but I have to honestly say if he did receive a package through someone else, it's only for commisarry reasons. It's definitely a different world in there and packages and canteen is definitely like a rare thing to get. Not everyone gets it, and the first opportunity they can they'll take it. So please don't take it as a betrayal if that is what it may come down too, but remember this is CA Dept of Corruptions!

(((JQ))) First take a deep breathe. Nobody has the right to speak to you that way or pass judgement on your sitatution ESPECIALLY based on his "C" number. That was extremely unprofessional and I'm glad you have contacted the supervisor.

Sweetie when it comes to your hunny go with your gut feeling. IF he did receive another package it's my guess he did it for someone who couldn't get one and simple forgot.

Queenie, I am so sorry that this is going on. That woman over stepped her boundaries in a big way!!! His status has nothing what so ever to do with the package situation!! She sounds like a bitter woman!! Very unprofessional!! It seems that Corcoran has issues with packages. That's a shame. I know you will get to the bottom of this, I wish you luck!! Sorry about this JQ.... this really upsets me I know so many people that make stupid comments like that... gggrrrrr As a proffesional she should never say things like that about the inmate and to the spouse/family. Who the hell does she think she is I hope her supervisor told her something, I would of Bi*** slapped her lol..... They dont know what we go through... agghh anywhoo Just talk to your man about this and get it straighten out, cause you dont want to be wondering who sent him a package or the story behind it. I hear about the corruption, lies, etc, but to actually live through it after all this time, it is so mind blowing!

JQ sorry for that so called woman having the audacity to talk to you in such an unprofessional manner. I have a somewhat similar situation dealing with a package the i sent to my husband. I will make my very very long story short. It really makes me angry that these people talk to you like you committed a crime because your loved one is incarcerated. Who made this person Judge and Jury over a decision that you decided to make regarding your soulmate. People better be careful of throwing rocks when they live in a glass house.

I ordered my husband a TV for Access, well about 4 months later the TV stopped working, he sent it to them for repair. Well 60 days went by, we didn't hear anything, i called I had to send $45 for repair, 60 days went by, no TV. I called again, this heffa said they didn't have any of those tv's in stock because new tv's were taking the place of those. OK so where the hell is the TV. She said i was entitled to a refund since i was the purchaser. I received $45, i call again, they said the refund was correct. How in the hell is that correct when the TV was $200. They transferred me to the "SUPERVISOR" who smacked gum and checked in my ear the whole dam time. Ok so me and her go back and forth, so I asked if i could have the TV shipped to me she said no, WTF do you mean no!!! I asked why not, she says the inmate has to send it to me when he gets released.. HUH???? what if he has a life sentence...she had the nerves to say "I GUESS YOU WILL NEVER GET THIS TV THEN HUH" OMG if I could have reached thru the phone i would have choked her like a chicken!!!So i am still venting, she said are you finished yet, I said no, that tramp put me on hold for 45 minutes and then hung me up.:angry:

Well, today I called Union Supply where this other supposed package came from. I acted like I was inquiring about wanting to put in an order and asked Union about my privacy and what will the inmate & the prison see on the "INVOICE". I asked, is there any confidential info on it that any of them will see? Such as my address, credit card number (partial) etc. She said NO, no confidential info is provided to the prison nor the inmate. I got her name and thanked her. NOW I talked to my babe tonight and was pissed. So I asked if I can take this as high as I want because she crossed the line with me with her horrific words,etc. He said, do what you want to do babe. So, I may be using some energy by shining some light on these circumstances and what I think is going on over there. Supposedly 1-2 folks were fired over there who dealt with the packages. This is just hear-say, but I can't help but wonder if it is true. In any case maybe I was suppose to go through this because maybe my energy will help others in the long run. And if that is the case, then it will all be worth it. She obviously stepped on the wrong toes!!!!!

Again, the reason why I called & inquired with Union is because I have never used Union.

If it has not been shipped yet, they may be waiting for an item to be come in stock. You may want to call them to check what the hold up is. Usually when I have ordered from Access, it seemed like it only took a couple days or so to get there. But call them, that is the fastest way to figuring out what is going on. BUT THEN, when it gets to Corcoran, we will see how long it takes for them to get your man is package!

Omg im so pissed... So ok last month i ordered a package for him and it got canceled becaue who ever tried getting him one last yr the check bounced. So he owed $25 which i didnt know and he didnt know about it either. So i sent a money order for that and they never got it "supposedly" ggggrrrr and my mistake i didnt get a confirmation receipt so i couldnt track it. If i wanted to track it i had to pay some fee then wait 90 days oh hell no... So i called access and they were like wait a week then we'll see if we still havent received it. Sso i waited and nothng, so i called this lady for like 3 weeks and she neer called me back so i spoke to mangers but htey dint know how to handle it and kept transferring to her!! Omg.... So last weel i spoke with another mngr and he was like let me trnsfer u to accting dept, and it was her omg... So she said well for all this trouble i jkust took him off the "do not sale to list" i was like ok, shes lie go ahead and purchase the package friday or monday. So here i go.. Now they fave me the conf# but still pending, so i called access right now and she said it was her mistake that the $25 had to be paid and she was apologizing, im like wht the hell didt you call me then... Omg she just kept apologizing, so i apid the $25 with my credirt card, and now i have to wait to see if its gonna be processes or ifi have to re-order it again.... Omg i hate this crap!!!! Ok im done venting.... We'll se tomorrow what she says she better call me or im gonna be so pissed!!! Ok bye lol

YES, a "C" number can get out. Anyone has the chance, and his chances are so great this coming year. He wouldn't be housed where he is at if he didn't have a chance. Alot of folks talk about him leaving, etc. That woman, she has no clue what she was talking about, period! :blah:

AND, there was NO OTHER package!! That's the whole point, he NEVER received another package. They are just messing with him.

They usually take the money out of my account about 2-3 days after they say it was shipped. Hopefully he won't have to want to long before he gets it. My hubby waited 10 days from the day I ordered it. Good Luck!!! :thumbsup:

I'm excited that they took the funds from my acct cause that means it got to CSP, So now i have to wait to see how long itll take for my love to get it. When i see him on the 7th, ill ask him and hopefully he got it by then cause that would be 2 weeks!! :)

Well Ladies, I wrote two State Senators, Director of Adult Institutions Director, Director of Internal Affairs and the Warden of Corcoran regarding MY situation, along with "conducting my own study" with women and their husbands/boyfriends quarterly packages and how we are being treated, dealt with, etc. I sent all of my emails from the past two weeks on how I was treated, etc. So now I sit and wait to see what happens.

To this day Corcoran has NOT returned the Quarterly Package to Walkenhorst's and I still have NOT received my credit back on my credit card.

I want an investigation done on these Quarterly Packages that are either being sent back for no reason, destroyed, "gone missing", ETC!

I'm still in the middle of fighting this issue. My man is 602'ing it. I've written quite a few folks, the higher ups, so we will see what happens. The vendo is good; I've never had any issues with them. I use Walkenhorst's but some others use Access or Union Supply.

If you send him one now, this will be for the fourth quarter. Unless you want to wait a tad bit longer, maybe a couple more weeks, then order one for him and it can be his "Christmas" package. ;)
