Hi All~
My guy was arrested on 1 Feb 07. On his 1st case it was driving without a lic. He was given 30 days and $150 fine. The fine is due on 5 June 08. He is at Wayside waiting to catch the chain. Will this fine turn into a warrrent if I cant pay it? Also...he was sentenced to 16 mos at 50% on 7 May 08 with 145 days credit. He has been waiting to catch the chain for 25 days. How many days credit is he recieving while waiting at wayside?

How do you find out when fines are due?

Hi - sorry you are going through this - I am pretty sure that he can get a waiver on
his fine or warrant by notifying the court that he is incarcerated and unable to appear. A CO can probably tell him. It used to be that they could use time served on traffic tickets, but apparently that isn't the case anymore. He will have to appear when he is out. Maybe you could notify the court that he is incarcerated and find out what the proceedure is. Otherwise there might be a hold on his release.
Good luck. Maybe someone will come by with better info.
