Hi, I'm trying to find some info about legal marriage of inmates. We were told we could not be legally married. My fiancee is in Delaware Correctional Center in Smyrna, Delaware, and we've just completed the Marriage Seminar classes they offer, but were told the State of Delaware will not marry us. This subject is impossible to find information on. We're desperate to know if there is any way we can be legally married. It doesn't matter where as long as it's legal; I'll go anywhere. If anyone can help or offer insight I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!!
Juliet

Hey Shorty,
Thanks so much for replying. So to marry by proxy I think I have to have a Power of Attorney signed by him that appoints someone to stand in for him, right? I have POA for him (Rob), and he gave me a signed blank one for me to appoint whoever to stand in for him. If it's done in Texas would it be legal in Delaware? I guess they'd have to recognize it as long as it's legal & done in the U.S., huh. Do you know where in Texas to go or how to get more info on the procedure? Please let me know of any more info you have. I really really appreicate your help (& so does he)!!
