my friend's husband was transfer to corcoran from vacaville, every thing is so confusing!!!! first of all he was send to vacaville from reception in wasco by mistake, YES!! by mistake cause he suppost to be transfer to corcoran, now he's at corcoran, and they put him in the hold, why??? we don't know, he wasn't at the hole in vacaville, so we don't know what's going on

Maybe they messed up on his classification too and they have him in there till they find out where he should really be. Has your friend talked to his counselor maybe they can tell you why he is where he is. Good luck to you.

my honey was sent to the hole because they didnt have a bed in the proper yard for him. it was for his safety. so it could be the reason. good luck

. . .How's visits in there. We are kinda of spoiled over here, cuz we get food
from their cafe and we have high tables. How is the visiting rooms there
and what type of food? Also, I would get to the line at 2a.m. along the
road. Where does everyone line up and what time does the line move?
We had a place called "Su Casa" where they had public staff working and
were there for us, the wives/girlfriends. Do they have that there? Thx!
Oh will be coming up from the O.C. Does anyone know of hotels/motels that
are nice to stay at? ? ?THANKS SO MUCH!

Food is out of the machines, you line up by the prison but right before visiting, there is not long lines waiting to get in. Visiting does get full on Saturday and Sundays and sometimes Friday. Friday visits start at 12:30-7 and Saturday and SUnday is 8:30-2:15. They have friends outside. There are two motels in this town Corcoran and the Budget Inn i bleive they are called. The nearest motels are 20 miles away.

Hi There! My man use to be at Donovan way back in the day. Boy, do we miss the guy that orders your food. :) That is some real food!!! As DaisyMay stated the visiting hours at Corcoran, however you can not be on the grounds until the beginning of those hours. Not a minute sooner. Friday's are alot better than Sat/Sunday. I only visit on Friday's since I can't handle getting up early anymore. So day visits for me. ;) I too come from the OC. When I get there on Friday's I like to arrive around 12:45pm, which works real well, and on Saturday's around 8:15 or so. Processing goes fairly fast at Corcoran, which has been a nice change. You can only bring in quarters and/or dollar coins. They have a machine there that changes up to a 20 dollar bill. (up to $50) You can only wear one ring set, one earring set, one necklace, NO tongue, belly or boobie piercings. They also have a trailer there on the grounds like the Su Casa at Donovan. You will miss Donovan!!!!! If I was to stay the weekend there in Corcoran, I wouldn't stay in town again. Nothing there and the places are descent, but???? I would rather stay in Tulare at Motel 6 which isn't far away @ 20 mins. More restaurants, etc... Corcoran has nothing, but one main street. Seriously. And always check, just in case for lockdowns, etc. at 1-800-374-8474, press 1, 4, 1 to get to Corcoran info.

As for visiting, it depends on what level you are visiting and which visiting room you are visiting. Different CO's in the rooms and they are all different. What level, etc. then I can give you better information. Processing folks are very cool. They process you very fast and are very pleasant too!

As for calls, calls are fine, as long as they are not on lock down. Doesn't happen alot, so that's cool.
