Hi everyone, i just wanted to ask if anyone got a refund from global? The other day i spoke to a representative, adn she gave me a phone number to call and request a refund because the collect call rate changed. the date range is september 1, 2007- may 5, 2008..... anyway, i never called the number but today i seen that i was credited about $650.00...... (we always talk A LOT, so i think that's why it was so much).... but has anyone else noticed this credit??? since i never called the number, i wonder if they're just refunding everyone whether you call or not....... i'm just scared to call and ask, cuz what if they say it was a mistake.... then ima cry of sadness instead of joy...... but then again, i don't wanna end up owing them for using up the credit that wasn't mine.....

anyway in case anyone is interested, this is the number she told me to call.... 1-866-533-1706. when you call they give you instructions on what to do.....

Everyone that received calls between the period of September 1st 2007 and May 2008 will/can get a refund. If you still have the same number and biling method (ie direct bill with GTL or sub billed with your local provider) then the credit will be on your next bill. If you no longer have the same number or have changed your service you need to leave a message or contact them by email and they will communicate your refund with you. I don't have the same number anymore so i emailed them and received a call yesterday. The call just was to tell me that i would be getting another call very soon. So we will see how long it will take.

hi girly!!! ummmm every month we talk like more than 120 times... ahahahaha, so i was lookin' at pretty good money. i know on 3 occasions we talked like 22 times in one day alone! ahahaha, so this refund was beautiful because it wasn't even expected!!!!:D

Here i am once again, just to say a few words in order to clarify a huge unnecessary situation....... i spoke to my husband earlier, and while he too seen no meanness in my post, just useful information, he kinda talked me into clarifying to everyone why i even answered to the unnecessary comments, and to tell anyone who cares that it wasn't to offend or be mean, because that's not the type of person THAT I AM........

To begin with, i have been part of the Corcoran Family since january 2007...... and the entire while, i've only posted encouragment, support, useful information or questions...... i feel that this thread was created to do exactly one of these things: Give useful information.......

apparently not everyone knew of this credit/ refund being given by global tel link, and since i noticed my balance reflecting credit, i remembered what a representative told me, so i wanted to share that with all of you.

so it seems as though one of my later posts was blown out of proportion, and i am not posting this message as a reply to that particular post. instead, i wanted to clarify to the REST of you, that in one of my responses i messed up in stooping to a level out of my character, and off topic. i don't want any of my lovely girlies (that i've met through the csp-csatf forum) to think i'm mean. although i never really mind what others think of me, or who i am, i feel that because of who i am, and the manners i was raised with, i should have taken it as a grain of salt.

i am a person who avoids drama at all costs, (i especially detest seeing it on pto, so it's a tad bit embarassing to know that in some way i was involved in such situation). BUT i guess it ticked me off that one grammatical error, caused a reading error, that created unnecessary postings, instead of getting acknowledged for even trying to help people get their refunds......

the ONLY thing i answered wrong was "that's NOT why we got it", because i got confused on a question mark not being placed.... but for the rest of my post, i gave useful information, on how my mother-in-laws and my account being different (prepaid/ and direct billed), yet both getting the refund today, and i gave a corrected email address, so that this poster along with everyone else interested could contact gtl (by phone or email) and actually get through. all the CAPS were done to clarify errors, and inform.... so if all that's not helpful, i'm honestly not sure what is.......... why would i be mad at someone who i don't even know, or never noticed just because they're asking for more details.... i obviously posted to help..... or i would've just kept this my own lil secret, and let the word spread on it's own later.....

to my understanding, others felt that my initial response was mean...... i'm not sure who exactly these "others" are, but to them, i just say everyone makes mistakes.... whether in typing or reading... it's not a big deal..... i don't get on here to create drama, nor put anyone down.... i've never done it before.... but when you're trying to help, and people try to loke up, then we are dealing with completely new issues.......

all in all however, i just wanted to let anyone who cared know, that i didn't mean to offend the on-lookers, or anyone else for that matter...... if anyone took offense i can't change minds, i can only clarify MY mistake..... if grudges are held, at least i did my part.....

Thank you so much for the info because I have three lines with GTL. One line charges me 17.30 a call. I can't wait to find out if I get a refund! The way we talk it should be a nice one! Once again thanks for the info.

so i emailed global tel link, asking about the refund, and this is the response i got.... i guess we'll see exactly how much/ what percentage we got back soon.....

"We are finalizing the processing of all credits now. Our IT group advises that actual credit information (with submission details) will be available by tomorrow. Currently, all customers inquiring about these refunds are contacted and advised that the actually amount of credit or refund is not yet available to us. As soon as we have access to actual credit data, we will follow up with all of these customers via telephone or email with specific credit information." ~ answer from one of the global tel link representatives~

hi girl.... your man is at one of the corcoran prisons? if so, welcome to the familia..... ummmm, as for your question, i think it just depends on what type of plan you have....

cuz okay, like my mother-in-law has a prepaid account. it started with 4 calls a month, ONLY. she HAD to have money on her account, or couldn't receive calls. and once she used up her 4 calls, that's it for the month, and she can't talk to my hunz anymore, even if she adds mony or whatever.... then after paying two consecutive bills, she has the option of increasing her monthly calls, by 5. i check her account every morning to keep her on track, and to increase he limit, if they offer it...... oh and she FORGOT to send ONE payment and they decreased her limit that had readed 30 calls a month, to four again......

but my account, is NOT prepaid.... i have a $250.00 limit. So once i reach this limit, my account is blocked (due to billing issues). BUT i can pay money and reopen it at all times. as long as i keep paying, my account remains open...... so that's why we go crazy on the phone, and be ringing up the balance....

Hmmmm, this is weird.... okay, how long have you been receiving calls? cuz with me, what happened was that in since the first month he started calling, he called me a certain number of calls which equaled $100.00. At this time, i was notified by global tel link (which was then: MCI), that i HAD to contract a bill with them in order to keep accepting calls. he sometimes calls his aunt/ cousin but they've never had to start a bill with global, because he only calls like once or twice a month, (if that). what do you mean you change numbers? ahaha, sounds funny.... but do you have two house phones??? oh, and i don't think at&t knows, because the calls are serviced through global. (but then again i haven't dealt with at&t since i got a separate bill with the collect call company.... so i could be wrong on THAT PART...)

i get billed thru verizon. but then a couple of years ago i was with my ex an he would call, but the time it got blocked was when i didn't keep up on my verizon bill. then they changed to mci so i had to just give them my info and they started to bill me thru mci but he got out so i didn't trip on the bill but i was still every now an then getting calls for one of my friends an they still hadn't blocked it. i even changed phone companies but had the same phone number. now i have a new number but when he tried to call it was blocked, so, i called gtl an gave them the info but they told me i was only able to get calls up to $100 then it would be blocked till it was paid. i tell him to call 3 times a week but i know how it is and i know he wants to talk with me. we have been doing good so far and he knows he can call once in awhile to my work so that helps too. i just don't want the phone blocked at all, to me its less trouble with gtl or the phone company. i hate dealing with either one of them!

sadgirl...i know what they are talking about...they way he is talking out is...he calls until he can call no more, the phones gets blocks, then get new number...thats when u don't plan on paying the bill (or u will). back in the days I had family members who use to do that all the time.

Thanks girrrrrl. i knew i wasn't trippin'.;) That's why i told jaime about it..... i don't ALWAYS tell him about my posts, when they're not important.... but this time, i was so confused...... i was like "oh my goodness, i was HONESTLY trynna help people get the money that we most certainly deserve:(".....

Got to get a grip!!! This is a forum, I hope, and it is for info as well as one to unite under a similar cause: the guys well being for the duration of their stay by the knowledge of what we can provide for them.
As for the refund..I have ATT and the Global Link shows as a separate part of the long distance bill. I get a call about twice a month, sometimes three. I will bet that there will be no refund for me for that low amount of usage.

I am new to all of this and all I can say is THANK YOU and that I ALWAYS learn something from each one of your posts and thaat means soooo much to me and helps me out in more ways than I will ever be able to tell you. Like if the difference is 60 cents per call now.... you'll get 60 cents times how many ever calls you got....

Like my mother-in-law only got back like $70.00..... and i got more than $650.00..... but then again, he calls me like 100 times a month, while he only calls her like 15 times a month.... (well now 4). so depending on how many calls you received during that period, that'll determine how much you'll get back..... yeah girl, that money really came at the most perfect time....

Yeah it's basically a dead issue..... but i know that i don't write like i speak.... becasue in the real world i wouldn't shout words... but in writing i DO capitalize words to EMPHASIZE key issues..... i know many times we can't tell a writers tone.... that's why i never assume anything..... i'm always nuetral....:D just trynna get through the tough times while my love is away....

hmmmm, as far as your refund..... i'm not sure how that'll work, since you aren't direct billed with them..... you can always email them..... so they can explain if you will be credited, and how it will take place.... i got a very pretty refund though.... yay!!!

yay for the refund!..If they sent you a check (and this goes to everyone reading this) take the money and fix up your cars so you will always have a good running car to drive up there with. If the refund is credit on future calls....make a mental note that it's only gonna be a one time refund...don't over-do your amounts to get that bill so high! When that phone shuts off, don't have him call you right away...save it till next time (means later..not an hour from the last one). Hate me for telling you, but in the long run you will save $ and have new things to talk about on the next call.
