I just need to vent alittle bit. I just went to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole to see the process of parole. I have along time till I get to that point, but I have been praying and am keeping the faith that I won't have to wait 12 years. Anyway, on the site it says that one of the things that they do is contact the family, the victims family and find out where the inmate will be living. I can understand that. That all makes good sense. What I don't understand is that they said they also send a letter to the Judge that sentenced the inmate, the DA that prosecuted the case and the arresting officer. That doesn't make any damn sense to me. They are the ones that assisted in putting my son where he is. Seems to me that once they had gone through that process, then they should be done! When the board sends them the letter asking for their imput , what do they really think they are going to get back. Of course they are going to say to keep him there until he rots! Do they honestly think that those people are going to say "ok, let him go". That is crazy! They worked very hard to put him there. They lied and and twisted the statements of all of the people that testified. They changed words around at the trial ect. Seems to me that they should be done with this case and not have any input to weather the inmate stays in or gets out. I am so frustrated with the "injustice system" Like another person says on this site, it can't be called the justice system, but it doesn't work that way. My son has had about 500 people write to the parole board in his behalf, including the mother of the the other boys that were in the car with him. (one died and the other is fine), but with all of the letters I just think that the board will go on what the judge, DA and arresting office say. They all go to dinner, parties, ect together I am sure. They work together everyday. Seems to me that the scale is alittle tilted to me. Well, thanks for letting me vent! I seem to be doing that alot lately.

Barbara, I have sort of avoided responding to your posts. Although you have been so kind to respond to mine. I guess it has to do with both of us having sons that are precious and really good people. However, unlike my son and my loss, you have faced and lost even more. I think it has been so hard for me to bare that and not feel so angry for you. I don't understand with medical proof how they can ignor your son and not release him to your care. Have you tried the Southern Human Rights group. Maybe you should direct your letter campaign to the judge, da and arresting officer so when P&P finally get around to you these upstanding citizens will be aware of your sons medical condition. In addition have copies of new letters sent from the other victims families.

I've noticed the the PAP board respects letter heads. So if you can get letters from doctors, lawyers, or do like we did (we got a letter from the attorney general) on letter head certifiied and sent in, they might take notice. I wish you the best.
