We were wed at 10am at Sumter CI Bushnell FL and George didn't stop shaking till he sat down once the pictures were taken and then he forgot to pull out my chair he was so upset

The light was really playing off my dress there is no lines in it and my sleeve almost disapared in this first picture!

I made the dress and was stressing over it once it was all the way done and I had brought George just a bit of a scrap that I cut off of the sleeve when I hemmed them so that he could see the color and he thought it would be very bright.. but when he seen it, it wasn't anything like what he pictured it to be and really liked it too! I should have had someone that sew'd look at it on me so that they could have seen that i needed to take in the back as it was falling off my shoulders when I moved... I was so worried about how it would look on me I didn't think to check the fit of it.. sigh... oh well everyone that seen me in it liked it and the CO at the gate was shocked that I had made the dress when George's sister told her I had made it.

Can't tell from the pics that it didn't fit - it's a beautiful fabric, too! Mad those are great smiles!

I'm really the only one that knew it was to large across the back but then I used to do alterations for a living so thats something I can see looking at the pictures.. George couldn't believe that I made it he said "its was beautiful and so much different then what I thought it would be."

You look wonderful in your dress. :) :) My fave pic is the third one from the bottom...where the two of you are holding each other and looking at each other...you both look so happy together. Oh, and I love the one where he's on bended knee. Awww...I'm just so excited and happy for you! And I'm glad they let you have the corsage! :)

Ah but you see there's no buttons on the dress its a 24" invisible zipper! with a hook at the top... ;)

I am glad everyone liked my dress I was really stressing over it not turning out the way that I wanted it to... its been along time since I have made anything for myself... I sew for others but haven't had the time or the will to make anything for myself... I just wish the lights would not have made it all but disapear in places plus all the reflections on it... it is beautiful fabric all the butterflies are different colors in silk threads

I have never used this fabric for clothes, even if I had when I was doing sewing for myself I would not have been caught dead in front of a camera to even know what it would have done under the lights...as it is the pictures that I have had taken in the past 3 years with George are the most I have ever had taken of myself in my life....

oh and for those of you wondering where I got the fabric to make this dress....

I got it at Wal-Mart... :eek: ;) :D ya just have to look around...

What are the regulations or procedures for getting married while incarcarated?

if you are wanting to marry someone in your home state I would go to your state's section you will find it farther down the main page on here and they could tell you what you would need to do to get the ball going.. if you are wanting to know in general then.. a few things I can tell you..

First your future husband has to request a marriage packet from the chaplain of the camp/prison he is in he will fill his section out send it to you and then you will fill yours out.. most places require that you be on his visitors list also if you have been married before that you have a Certified copy of your divorce papers stating that you are divorced. you will have to have permission from the prison he is in and he will have to undergo some other things that are required on his part you will have to pay for all of it that comes from the outside and will have to do most of the work on getting things done...

You also must understand if you have been reading my posts on getting married and being approved the time that it took us is not the norm for a time frame by any stretch of the word our appoval was very and I am talking VERY fast here in the state of Florida the time can take up to or over 6 months the normal time is 3-4 months we were told by the Chaplain when we put in our paperwork.. that it took us 37 days from the day George got the papers from the Chaplain till them came back from Tallahassee and were given to the Chaplain to give back to us with the appoval... He is still shaking his head at how fast they got back, the other 3 couples that put their paper work in at the same time are still not back... as long as your man has not been in any trouble you should not have long to wait... We have not been always able to wear them but they don't push it here when its hot out.... We can even wear flip flops with no problems at all.. which is good when its almost 100* outside.. I do not wear shoes without socks of some kind on unless they are flip flops... so I welcome that option for shoes even more then the open toes..

thank you for the wishes and I am glad you like the dress its been a long time since I made something for myself to wear... George said that it meant more to him that I took the time to make the dress then if I was to go out and buy one it told him that I really cared about making this "our wedding" not just getting married in a room at a prison.. He was very pleased with the dress when he finely seen it.. We both wished that we could have had more time together but that will come when he's home.

Thank You.... I figured he had to wear blue so why should I wear a different color.. and I figured the white sandals would make the something white because after all this was not a first marriage for neather of us so there was no need to wear a white dress. Plus I look better in jewel tones then other colors.. :thumbsup: the pattern was one that I got from Wal-mart and I added the long sleeves to it because the room we were married in is the officers canteen and they keep the A/C on full bore and if it gets to cold I break out in hives so the long sleeves came in handy!

Thank you and yes I was able to wear the corsage the whole time I was there. It even went thought the detector with no problem...
