View Full Version : pOWER OF ATTORNEY FROM A CORCORAN INMATE sanchezct 05-22-2008, 05:02 PM Ok I need to get a power of attorney. How do i go about it and is it expensive? NIKKIWHIT70 05-22-2008, 05:11 PM Your loved one can get one from the legal library and have it notarized. About 2 years ago it was like 10.00 for a notary. I hope this helps.:) sanchezct 05-22-2008, 05:13 PM well how does he pay for it...i don't send him money normally NIKKIWHIT70 05-22-2008, 05:14 PM They need to have money on their books is what I know.:( sanchezct 05-22-2008, 05:26 PM hmm that is not cool because he still has the money he owes so if i want to send him the money to take care of this then i have to send double. hmmm isn't there another way. daisy may 05-22-2008, 09:10 PM No, there is not another way. If you want power of attorney the notary needs to sign it and you will have to pay double to get it done. Also, you can go online for California courts and print out the power of attorney forms. A.C. Aldag 05-22-2008, 09:12 PM Yes, you have to use the prison notary public, and yes it costs money. I'm pretty sure that it has to be taken from his books, however, call the prison legal department and ask if you can mail a M.O. directly to them to cover the cost. You then also have to have it notarized with your signature. Check with your county clerk. There are also notaries at many banks and insurance agencies. You'll have to have ID like a driver's license, to prove who you are. Then sign the papers, and they stamp it. You will need a copy and your loved one will also need one. You can get a POA form online, modify it to your needs, and use that. Do you want medical authority? Financial authority? (Don't answer, just stuff to consider). sanchezct 05-23-2008, 10:33 AM I WANT IT ALL...LOL I am his wife and have been for 10 years i would think as least for i need it right now for that is woldn't such a big deal. But i might as well get this done the right way. hissunshine4evr 05-25-2008, 02:19 AM hello i was in your same shoes and needed the power of attorny and he didnt have any money on his books what i did was i sent it directly to the litigation people. i made a money order and made it payable to them. it is only $10. just give them a call to get the direct address and they will let you do that! it takes awhile for the notary to see them but it works!! hope that helps you good luck sanchezct 05-25-2008, 02:41 PM Thank You So Much I Will Do That On Tuesday. |
