Hey everyone.
My fiance is in Jackson. He has been there 9 wks. We don't get visits or phone calls. That really sucks. We decided to go about getting married. Now that we are waiting on the paper work I'm afraid they will send him off before we are married. If so what do i do? Do i have to go through the process and buy the license all over again? And they said i had to find my own preacher, how do i do that? I so confussed and stressed out! Any1 have loved ones there too? If so write and tell me about it. Share your stories, tell me what to expect, something! Thank u all so much! PTO is such a blessing!

My boyfriend is at jackson too going on 4 months. Get ready for a wait. They are saying the avg wait there is 6-8 months right now. I don't know about the wedding thing. You know that his immediate family can visit after 6 weeks right? It doesn't help you out, but if he has any family near by, maybe it will help him out. I don't know the reasoning for not allowing signifigant others visiting privileges at jackson after 6 wks. If i find out, i'll let you know. I didn't know they'd let you get married while they are in diagnostics. Keep me posted about that. I'm curious.

Hey! yeah i thought thry may send him soon. He family visits but you know its still hard not getting to see him or talk to him. See when I first ever called up there and talked to a guard she was short and snappy and said we couldn't get married. Then I got really aggervated one day and called and asked to speak with the chaplin(chaplin Herald) They transfered me to him and i told him very bluntly how crazy I was going about trying to get married. he said well what would u do out there. i said go to the courthouse he said ok then thats your first step. I said but he is in diagnostics and he said that did not matter. So u go to your courthouse get the papers and send to him for him to sign and his counselor to notorize,when he sends them back u go get the marriage license from the courthouse and send to atlanta to chaplin woodrow hudson for approval. Set a date with the chaplin and find a preacher to go marry u and that is it. Only thing that sucks is if u get up there with the preacher to get married and they have sent hin off that morning, but I believe they only send off on tues & thurs.

Well, i'm not in a big huge hurry. I told him i want him asking me in person and that he had to arrange it so that we wouldn't get in trouble when i jumped in his lap and said yes. He also said he wants to set it up. I deal with all the lawyer s***, he can deal with the preachers! haha! He has a court date coming up that i hope they are going to have to transport him to & i will hopefully get to see him then with his lawyer. We'll see what the boy says then & I might be in more of a hurry! = )
