Safe bet is not to wear it. Most prisons don't allow them from what I understand.

No, you can't because they set off the metal detector. Z.

Funny. Underwire will sometimes set off the metal detector, but dont worry, its no biggy! I have seen it happen a dozen times. They have a ladies restroom that is outside of (prior to) the metal detector screening, and all you would have to do is go there, take it off, clear the detector without it, and then they will scan that dastardly bra, and let you put it back on in the ladies room that is immediately on the other side of the detector! No biggie, and no reason for concern.
SFF Haz staff are not a bunch of gestapos in their dealing with the public, so dont sweat it. I would rate them very hightly. It may only cost you a liitle time and embarassment, but they wont bar your entry for that. No way.

Just for the future if someone passes by wondering the same question as me..When I went you could have underwire..I of course after reading the posts when to get one without at like 1 in the morning...Which was hard to find by the way..Then the lady behind me wore one and I asked and they just had this trick for you to clear it...And without removing your bra too..The CO just said to kinda wrap your arms around where you wire would be...AND IT WORKED..so its safe there as of now....

YUP!
I have had to do the same thing with the fly on my zipper jeans!
I looked like PeeWee Herman wrapping my hands across my crotch was I cleared the metal detector, but it worked!!!
BOP staff is not gestapo They will work with you as best they can.

Yea..I was wanting to wear these jeans that have snaps on the back but I was planning to wear a bra with wire next time..So I dont think I can manage that...But Im not sure if they allow those or not...
I've read the "allowed" clothing list, and I'm stumped.. Are fitted pants allowed? Like fitted track pants type ? and there no hoods allowed on the jacket right?

No hoods, correct.
And by fitted do you mean tight (like those spandexy-stretchy pants)? If so, I wouldnt try it without an extra pair of baggy pants in the car just in case. and if you are talking about sweat pants...I wouldnt try it, either (unless they are the jogging suit swishy-sounding kind)...because, at least up @ USP Big Sandy, they DONT allow them
You never know...it all depends on the COs working that day...

Yea i think it really depends on the CO...The last time I went up they let a girl in with a white tee shirt and black bra...I was like WHAT..One time I wore a yellow shirt and they said no saying you could see through it..So out to the car I went...I guess it depends on the mood...
