Do you use word press? Maybe you can help me.

When you are editing the pages there are "tags" you can enter into a form on the wordpress website. Are these the same as metatags? I feel as tho they are different somehow.

Can you help me:
1. are they used when people search the net?
2. on wordpress it asks "what do you want to call this?" should i give it a short name? For example if i had a blog about movies, could i call one of my tags "sience fiction"?

Tag slug The “slug” is the URL-friendly version of the name. It is usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens.

Ok I figure out the tags on my own. thanks anyway
