My fiancee is currently doing time in a Ga prison, He thinks that a half way house and a pre release center are the same thing. Are they? I also need to know if it would cut back his time if he was eligible for a pre release program? Don't they typically send you to a pre release program before your depature? The reason he wants to go to a pre release or half way house program is because they help you find employment and provide you with a place to stay, as well as, food, he says he does not want to be a finicial burden on me( not that he would be, I have been handling the finances since he has been gone). I believe that it has more to do with his frame of mind going from prison to home. If any one can please help me I would greatly appreciate it. I also need to know where they are located in GA. my son is in prison in Idaho, and im in sanfrancisco. My health is very poor, and my hands are tied! Im trying to get his parole transfered to California, and no one will help me. Weve been denied transfer due to to small of living space. Im from Washington State and not familiar with this area. Can anyone help me find some kind of housing for my son(halfway house ect) please?

In some states, the DOC administers both kinds of programs; in others, private agencies are involved I also need to know if it would cut back his time if he was eligible for a pre release program? If he's in a pre-release program, he will have more freedom but will still be in a program.Don't they typically send you to a pre release program before your depature?
