hi all.

surfing the boards and found this site http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22725 (sorry, it posted twice?) anyway...does iowa have anything like this?

for that matter, do any of you know the music regulations at iowa's prisons? i never thought about it, but looking back i think i remember aaron saying they can have cassettes? but that it is hard to get ahold of music.

so, if there is no program like this, how would we go about starting something like that?

i'm just full of questions today.

Evy, I breezed through the other thread you posted. What I understand is they want cassettes and cd's donated. Correct?

Have Aaron check at Rockwell what the rules are. I know for sure that Ft. Dodge, Mt. Pleasant, Ft. Madison, Newton you can not send any of those. The inmate themselves must order the cassette (only) from pre-approved supplier. I had wanted to mail J for Christmas one time some of his favorite music. Couldn't do it. I could not even order it for him and have the company send it. He had to order it himself.

I don't get it. I can go to a bookstore or go on-line, order a book, and have them send it. But you can't do that with music.

it seems weird to me, as well. i'll have to ask aaron...i wonder if they have a music library like the one mentioned in the other post? hm. i just can't imagine being disconnected from the music world. i know aaron certainly doesn't like it.

well, i'll try to get some info from aaron.

I know John can't have cd's because they can't have cd players because of the lazer in side it. I think they can have tapes if they are sent from the store are manufacture. Tami
