Hi, I am new to this and I am planning to be married in the Corcoran shu, and I wanted to know if I need to go to one of those notary places to send with the first application and do i send my original birth certificate? I am a little confused, any help would be great!

I got married at Cor 2 last year and I didn't have to have anything notarized. I did have to send my original birth certificate though. Hopefully someone will be along soon from Cor 1 to let you know. You could call his counselor and find out for sure though.

Hi I just went through the process at Cor1 not too long ago but it was on the level one yard so I am not sure how it differs from getting married in the Shu. But I just sent copies of everything and had nothing notorized, at first I thought I had to send orginals and even have them notorized but the marriage couselor is awsome and never questioned it! Good luck!!!!!

I was married in the SHU at Corcoran 1 last year...the process is quick and smooth! You do not need anything notarized. All you need is the original or certified copy of your birth certificate, a plain ole' copy of your drivers license or state ID and a copy of your social security card, along with your 3 money orders and you're set! It went sooooo quick! We were married within 6 weeks of sending in the first marriage application/packet!! Best of luck to you!!! :D

you can get a copy of your original birth certificate at your local health dept. I could not find mine when I needed it. They sent the BC back to me about a week later. If you have to get anything notorized, Like premarital agreement, they must be sent to the litagation dept.
