hey im looking for anyone who knows someone in the florence / picacho unit. i have not found ANYONE who has even mentioned the unit. i mean, i know its minimum securtiy and its not heavily populated but come on! there has to be someone!!! let me know. i just dont want to feel like im the only one with someone there...

I would try using the search function at the top and type in Picacho and see what you come up with. Just food for thought. Good luck!

i tried it! and the only stuff that comes up is stuff ive written or things from like 2004....with people who have countdowns that are all "since" he got home....

Are you looking for the Picacho Unit? If you are that unit is not actually in Florence it is in Picacho, Arizona. If you go to the Florence site and type in Picacho you will find it. If this is not what you wanted sorry. :o

LOL...... it's just you and me! There is no one else in that darn prison. I haven't talked to any of the other visitors at Picacho either. There is no waiting in line so you can't talk to people like that. The only way is to get up and go over to their table, which I won't do. lol :p

i haven't been able to see him. he jus went from alhambra to there on the 18th. i just found out his number n address now i gotta get some envelopes. idk if theyll even let me visit cuz it was a domestic thing .... :((

Oh that's to bad you won't get to visit. :( It's a little prison out in the desert. About 200 inmates. All inmates have to work, be inside or outside of the prison. It is minimum security. The COs have always been real nice to us. My son has never complained about them.
They just sprayed under the trailers so the rattlesnakes and scorpions won't get ya. lol

oh :s i hope he dont get bit lol. i was so shocked when i look up his info on doc website cuz he usually has a gotee n beard (my pics) n ive never seen him without (going on 3 years2gether) n he shaved it all off i litterally gasped. lmao his mom like omg what. hahaha

It's gone cause he was forced to shave it off. My son had some facial hair going on and I asked him why he shaved. He said they made him. Some rule they got going on.

Well Picacho is a small prison. About 200 inmates. They live in barites, like the Army. They also have 2 and 1 man cells. It takes a long time to get one of them with no tickets. It's a working mans prison. Everyone goes to work, on the inside or outside. They test all the inmates for drugs regularly.

The visitation is small with few games and cards to play if you want. There is inside and you can go outside to but only if there is a CO out there. Which there is. They can smoke outside too.

You park in the visitation spot then walk down to the gate. Ring the buzzer and they let you in the first gate. Then you find yourself in a cage. lol and then they open the second gate for you. Sometimes they have the drug dog and sometimes not. I think it's like surprise we have the drug dog today. You have to take your shoes off and let the CO check them and walk thru a metal detector. The visitation CO is on her toes and watches everything going on.

Very little politics. Which is good.

Because I live in Tn and go to school... I'm living off my school money and Feb is when i get my overage check. I have no friends or family that are willing to help me get out there sooner:(

aw that sucks im sorry to hear that :( at least its not that far away time-wise
